During his radio show on Wednesday night, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko was asked about the ongoing feud between LSU and the SEC.

A fan reportedly slipped Elko a handwritten note jokingly asking whether, if the SEC voted LSU out of the league, the Tigers would go independent or go to the NFL. This was his answer:
quote:

“This is a little bit like the son figuring out where the limits are until dad comes home and raises his voice, and then the son goes, ‘I was just kidding, I didn’t mean any of that.’ I think that’s what you’re seeing.

“LSU will be in the SEC. LSU will be fired up when we go to Baton Rouge in a couple weeks. All of those things are going to happen. This is just a little bit of, parenting, going on right now.”

Its pathetic that none of these other schools or coaches have the nuts to stand up & speak the truth. Elko was likely also recruiting those same “NFL Players” as LSU. COWARDS

So the only time when Texas and Aggie doesn't hate each other is when they can gang up on LSU and foment SEC wide movements to kill LSU football?? Let's see what the LSU football team has to say about that.

Looking at our schedule week 3 and 4 are must wins. Wonder if we’ll be prepared for the back up QB this time.

The correct answer would have been something like “ I’m not really following that” or “that’s not really my call”. I guess he could have said something even worse for bulletin board material, but not the wisest thing to say one way or the other.

Terrible response. Do all these coaches and administrators just want to make our team even more motivated than they already were? If you don't have anything positive to say, just say nothing. This is NOT at all like a father showing a son his "limits". If it were, then the "father" is a terrible parent who doesn't treat his "kids" equally. Everyone is testing the limits, courts make decisions, teams go with the court orders as they boundaries, and the conferences along with the NCAA really serve no purpose when it comes to enforcing rules. But when LSU follows a court order, suddenly "daddy" has a problem.
