LSU's Season Opener In Houston Could Be Relocated

Officials from LSU and BYU reportedly met with ESPN on Sunday to discuss possibly moving the season opener in Houston due to Hurricane Harvey which has caused “catastrophic flooding” in the city.

The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday, September 2nd in NRG Stadium but potential relocation options could include LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge or the Superdome in New Orleans. Per SBNation.com:

“Officials from both schools will meet with ESPN on Sunday to discuss moving the game away from Houston’s NRG Stadium,” the report reads. “Two potential relocation sites are LSU’s Tiger Stadium or New Orleans’ Mercedes-Benz Superdome. A source told SB Nation both schools are committed to playing the game Saturday in a different city.”

Playing the game on Sunday is not an option as BYU doesn’t allow its sports teams to compete on Sundays, due to a Church of Latter Day Saints policy.

The earlier a decision is made, the better. It gives those who want to go the opportunity to make plans. I know there's a lot of moving parts so I guess we will know when ESPN makes their decision.

Not sure where they should play. Tiger Stadium will probably be soaked as previously stated. So let's go down the River where 3 weeks ago, just 5-8" of rain flooded the place due to "sub-standard drainage" and "possible" misuse of funds. So that seems to be our options!

SMG manages the Superdome and NRG Stadium in Houston and says The Dome is ready to go for next Saturday's game! Seems like the logical choice as long as ESPN doesn't wreck everything!
