LSU senior safety Jacoby Stevens spoke with reporters on Tuesday and confirmed that he will be turning pro after this season.

Despite the NCAA offering another year of eligibility, Stevens' final game with LSU will Saturday’s Senior Night vs. Ole Miss.

The Tigers will not be playing in Bowl Game this season after self-imposing a postseason ban last week.

If he has a chance to make money he has to go now, the body can only take abuse for a limited amount of time. He fulfilled his commitment at LSU. All the best to this man.

This is completely opposite of what goes on at Clemson and Alabama.

I mean he’s a senior he has that right, I wish he could stay though. Hopefully our defense as a whole is better next year. Best of luck to him

There's absolutely no reason to play for free at LSU, if you have a shot at earning a spot anywhere in an NFL organization, even if only on a practice squad.

Let us clarify that by saying it is directed at seniors and not underclassman

Free education, free room and board. You can say he'll make a lot more in the NFL but he wasn't playing for free.

Such a stupid statement. How about no reason to play for free at "any" university with that attitude, much less LSU. Spoken by a true sidewalk fan that didn't attend/graduate from college.

More 5* player incentive to come and see the field early and often at LSU

100%. I feel like he’s going to have a decent career in the league once he is settled into a position. Best of luck Jacoby!

We can say all the bad things we want about the guy as far as on the field but at least he stuck it out to the end. For that he should be praised.
