Multiple sources report that LSU running back John Emery Jr. has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

The St. Rose, La. native was a highly recruited prospect out of Destrehan High School but dealt with many ups and downs during his five-year career at LSU.

He was a true freshman on the 2019 National Championship team but missed his junior season in 2021 due to eligibility issues. Most recently, Emery Jr. suffered a season-ending injury against Florida during his fifth-year senior year in 2023.

He played in 37 games over the last five years and rushed for a total of 1062 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Didn’t realize he still had eligibility. He was always good for a couple splash plays a year, specifically in Bama games.

Dude showed speed, power, and vision as a high school player. Now, not so much.

Probably a solid number 2 behind Ryan Perilloux on the “what could have been” list at LSU.

Do you even Cecil Collins, bro?

Collins would be No 1 on that list. I never saw anything that impressive about Perriloux when he played.

Perriloux in 2007 looked great every time he touched the ball spelling for Flynn. 51/75, 8 TDs, 2 Ints with 207 rushing yards and 2 TDs. Got his first start in the 2007 SEC Championship game when Flynn got hurt and looked more than solid considering the circumstances. He was going to be something special. Our offense was going to have a legit weapon at QB. Instead we got Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson.

No. We have to get to about 82 scholarship players. We entered spring with 92. Need room for DL transfers.

Well they were over the limit…now there are 2-3 spots for defensive tackles to be brought in.

Wherever he goes is going to have to fudge his grades so he can suit up
