Las Vegas, NV – Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 304 yards and two touchdown passes, but a late score from Southern Cal lifted the Trojans past LSU on Sunday night in Las Vegas, 27-20.

Nussmeier found his rhythm quickly with two consecutive 15-yard receptions to junior receiver Kyren Lacy, moving the ball passed midfield in the opening minute of play.

On 4th-and-2 from the LSU 39, Nussmeier found Lacy again for a three yard pickup to move the chains. Nussmeier then found junior tight end Mason Taylor for a 13-yard gain to move the ball to the Trojan 20.

He’s overpaid and underproductive.

0-1 for the third year in a row. 10 million.

No excuses for this crap product. This sucks. We are stuck. It all sucks.

Two players cost the game. Burns and Lacy with their stupid unsportsmanlike penalties that both changed the momentum back to USC. This is a problem with Kelly since he has been here. No control over his teams emotions after a good play. Those two kids lost this game no argument.

Play calling hurt them more. Ego over the run killed them. Just let Nuss sling it one possession while up 4 late in the game. Give him a shot to give us a two possession lead.

Here we geaux again. I understand the 'game plan' but, when the air-raid is on fire, use it to set up the run. LSU had the chance to put this game into the comfortable margin late and decided to 'try' and run the ball. This is on the coahing staff!

I don’t want to hear anymore about our oline being best in the ncaa, they could have put that game away. It was a fist fight but our oline got cut!

This is why you don’t give a coach $90 million up front.

The problem was the play calling at the end of the game. You had a chance to put your foot on their neck and put them away and on first down we run a delay draw? Take a shot right there pick up a few first downs and the game is over

You are correct, conservative BS Calling when we had the chance to maybe go up 24-13. Dink passes hurt us too.

The Offensive play calling was the reason we lost. That was fricking horrible. Sloan doubled down on the run and made 0 fricking adjustments at any point in the game besides our supposed great OL getting their shite shoved and getting 1 YPC. If we open up the playbook and pass, this game is won by 10 points easy.

You don't think that BK maybe had some input into the offensive plays that were called at the end of the game?

Another year, another loss to start. Guess we need to play some tune up games like a lot of other teams.

Don't understand running Josh Williams up the middle most of the game. Emery was making some plays and yet they go back to Josh Williams. Have some runs to the outside, use your All American tackles.

Really don't understand the last offensive series. After the 2 minute time out they could have ran the ball once or twice and killed the clock some.

They settled for a fg instead of going for the win. Coaching plays late. No way a superior team lets that go. Two minutes and they just choked.

They were the more physical team during crunch time. They were also the more disciplined team.

You have to score more than 20 points to win in this era.

BK is a loser. Four more years with 8-4 record.

This team played well. It’s the offensive philosophy that needs to change. We can still attack down field, idk why Brian Kelly has this idea that we can only run the ball and throw short passes. That’s absurd and we will lose tons of games with this mindset. Open up the run with the pass. We have the TEs, WRs and RBs to get this done. Throw in some run plays to soften them up and wear them down but stick to what the defense is giving you. The game wasn’t called terribly. It was about 3 drives that should have been called differently at those times. But we need to attack when we have momentum and stop playing scared football. Attack attack attack!!! You people are nuts if you think we played bad defense. We won’t see many WRs like these guys. Miller Moss is also a legit QB. Smart and very accurate. USC will win lots of games if they stay healthy. The refs also screwed us again in this game. Huge calls that killed our momentum in the game. That BS call when our DL man moved, that was a BS call and at a huge time. The PI when it was USCs WR grabbing all over our DB was BS call. Should have been called OPI. They were holding the shite out of our DL and no calls. They were holding our WRs, no calls and they were pushing off of our corners, not one freakn call. Pushed off of our corners anytime they were near. No calls. We played around way too much and we have to attack downfield much more. Take shots and back those dudes off the LOS then run the damn ball. Our defense caused 3 fumbles, we wasn’t able to take advantage of and would have changed the game completely. USC was just in the right damn place at the right time. We also have to clean up the stupid penalties after big plays, I mean damn guys, score and come back to score more. One play or one score isn’t shite. They have to learn how to control that and pile it on instead of celebrating for nothing. Celebrate after the victory. Brain Kelly and these assistants HAVE to create a no celebrating rule, none, until they know how to control themselves. I’d also create a stay on your feet rule. You leave your feet, you leave the game, unless it’s leaping with a WR or for the ball in the air. But when you making a tackle, better not leave your damn feet. Attack the damn field and get those damn big arse TEs the ball. Use those guys on slants, goes, comebacks. We could have tore them up using a TE straight down the middle of the field, it was wide open all night. How they don’t see these things and attack it is beyond me.
