He shouldn’t apologize. This is on the damn ref not taking control of the situation. UCF player instigated this incident. Only mistake Alexander made was not giving him an upper cut to the gut.

I don't get it. So many of you are saying he took responsibility. All he said was it wasn't the fault of the staff or team. No apology or saying he let the team down or anything. I'm not hating on the young man but this isn't taking responsibility in my eyes

Yeah, people aren't going to be pleased to hear it, but he was very careful not to apologize and to emphasize that it was in retaliation, i.e. "justified." It's not a huge deal -- he just lost his temper and screwed up -- but this really just sounds like a PR damage control thing, nothing more.

They always say that the goal of an education is to turn boys into men...he took responsibility for his actions and offered no excuses. Mission accomplished, young man! Thanks for being a Tiger!

Got have respect for anyone who owns their mistake. As much as we hate that he left us even more short on DB's for the game, imagine how he must feel, he was actually on the field representing LSU for the last time. Best wishes on your future, thank you for your service to the boot!

Classy response. I like the fact he owned up to it but shouldn't overshadow his time at LSU.

I thought it was interesting that he made sure that it was clear that the responsibility was his, and his alone, but he sure in the frick didn't apologize for it, lol.

Good for him. A bad moment to pick up his first personal and uncharacteristic for him. Shame to go out that way but he was a key part of a great team and no one can ever take that away.

Like him taking responsibility and wish him well. However, marginal player at best. Thanks for being a Tiger!!
