LSU redshirt freshman quarterback Lowell Narcisse announced Tuesday night that he is transferring out of the program.

Narcisse, a former four-star dual-threat quarterback from St. James, La, signed with LSU for the class of 2017, choosing the Tigers over Auburn and others. He was rated as the No. 5 dual-threat QB for 2017 and the No. 4 overall player from the state of Louisiana, according to ESPN Recruiting.

An ACL injury caused Narcisse to miss his senior year of high school and he redshirted his freshman season at LSU last year. He was expected to compete for the starting position this season.

The Tigers now have three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster in senior Justin McMillan, sophomore Myles Brennan, and junior Joe Burrow.

This Narcisse love by some of you has been delusion from the start. I have said several times that I had friends who are well known coaches who watched Narcisse and the other QBs at LSU practices and they have consistantly said that Narcisse was never higher than 3rd in the QB race. In fact, at times McMillan was ahead of Narcisse and this may have been the case here. It is a good possibility McMillan was 3rd and Narcisse was 4th. When I stated these coaches opinions on the Rant many of you were doubtful about it and some were hostile. Now as it appears these coaches opinions were absolutely correct some of you are still delusional. Just think back to last season when Brandon Harris transferred to UNC and some of you nitwits were convinced Harris was finally going to show his "great skills" at UNC under Larry Fedora. Well, Harris was terrible at UNC and was beaten out by a Freshman. This is a similar situation and you Narcisse lovers are wrong about his abilities. That is simply the truth.

If LSU loses 5 to 6 games, this transfer still means nothing. He was way down the depth chart and was not the difference between 6 L’s and going 10-2 or better. If we have QB problems 2-3 years from now, sure, you can point to this. Outside a wildcat package here and there, LN was not playing this year. He isn’t the difference.

I have to feel like the coaches must have given the QB's some sort of insight on who was leading for the starting job and he did not like where he was placed. Selfishly, I wish he would stay. But that is because I want as much talent on the team as possible. But from an athlete's perspective, I do not blame him. These guys only have a few year window to make something of themselves before their careers are over (unless they are good enough to go pro), so why waste those years riding the pine when he is clearly good enough to play at a lot of schools across this country. So I say, Good Luck Lowell! Thank you for your time and I wish you all the best...

Bull shite! Every one is Burrow and Brennan crazy! He will definitely win a Championship with another program. There is no QB on LSU's roster with his TALENT!!

Seems like he might be a quitter. Hasn’t played football in 3 years and what? Expects to be the starter in year 2? He gave up quick, but it’s better to figure out a guy is a quitter early than late.

Well, I think we now know that 1 Call is Narcisse trolling us on TD!

Hate to hear this, as I think he has the most potential of the three quarterbacks with the exception of Burrow. Have to say though, his eligibility clock is ticking and he needs solid playing time. He is not going to get that at LSU over the next year or two, so his decision to transfer is probably a good one. Thanks for being a Tiger, Narcisse!

I think if he had stayed, he would have played some this year. Had he shown a lot of success, his playing time would have increased. I think he left too soon. It is his decision though, and I wish him happiness wherever he ends up!

Damn I wanted to keep Narcisse but I understand he has to do what’s best for him and his family. I hope he finds the right place and excels. I wish him good luck.

He wants to play pro ball. You don't get to the pros by riding the pine. He will move on to a smaller school where he can play. He just got beat out by more talented guys.

Can’t make the pros if he can’t win the spot in college. Js

Most don't go pro. Even most starters don't go pro. Minimum practice squad money is $7,200 per week but can be more. Not a bad gig but you have to play in college to even get on the practice squad.

Just another player who would rather play for an inferior program than compete for the starting role at a superior one. Gone are the days where players wait in line to gain experience and start as juniors and seniors a la Matt Flynn. Gross entitlement. Start me now or I’m leaving! Sad! What if Burreaux (God forbid) tears his ACL game one?

Wow after we stood by him while having 2 bad knees and him being only a redshirt freshman, I have to say that this annoys me. Best of luck to him, but that's just acting like a spoiled brat thinking the starting job is yours being only a freshman in the SEC. Wow!

I never said he "owes" anyone a damn thing! So you shut the hell up! I was just stating that the school and the fans stuck by him and supported him even while he was in recovery with 2 acl injuries, and to make things even worse he's only a redshirt freshman. These kids nowadays don't want to be patient, wait their turn, and earn the job. They want things handed to them on a silver platter, and it doesn't help that they are treated like rockstars throughout the recruiting process. So quit taking my words out of context. I also said best of luck to him jackass.

That's a darn shame. I was, selfishly, hoping Brennan could redshirt and Narcisse could be the #2 (if McMillan wasn't) and then he and Brennan could come back as sophomores and compete if Burrow leaves after one year or as juniors if he doesn't. But kids today want to start as freshmen and sophomores and if they don't, they leave. That's a shame, but a reality. I have ever confidence in Burrow, McMillan (?), Brennan, and Loving this year. Sale as well. That's not a bad depth chart at all. And with Parrish coming in next year...good things. Just need to get one QB a year and keep some separation.

Good luck to the young man. I wish he would stick with the Tigers because I think he will be a senior starter that will be a star for someone when it all comes together and he's distanced himself from his injuries.

Gonna miss him. He seemed like a great kid with a big heart and good head on his shoulders. Hope to see him do well as long as it’s not in the SEC.

He should have waited a few games into the season. This is practice, just look at what happened to yourself the last two years of high school.
