Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports
Former NFL star LaDainian Tomlinson had nothing but high praise for LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and his performance the NFL Combine this past weekend. Per 247Sports:
quote:

"Clyde Edwards-Helair was as advertised. He’s right there as the No. 2 running back. I thought he was great," Tomlinson said during an appearance on NFL Total Access. "The lateral movements that we talk about. Here’s a guy that’s an all-purpose type of guy. He can do a little bit of everything. Just look at the tape. Look at the lateral movement. It’s so good. He’s short and compact and has a low center of gravity when he runs, and then he has a burst through the whole that you really love. He gets up to the defenders so fast. Catching the ball out of the backfield is something we really wanted to see, and it was as advertised today."

Remember that time tRant thought Emery and Davis-Price would be the featured backs by October?

I actually doubted he would be the guy to legitimize the run game this season. LSU has always had a running game, but I had my doubts coming into the season like I sure many did. CEH not only legitimized it, he owned it. For a kid who has constantly been told, "You're not be enough" or "You're fast enough", he's getting the last laugh! He'll keep shining at the next level. He's already a legend in LSU. Without CEH, we don't beat Bama, we don't go undefeated, and the trophy doesn't reside in Baton Rouge!

When the lights were the brightest he had his best games. Florida - 134(10.3), AU - 136(5.2), Bama - 103(5.2), Clemson - 110(6.9). 215 carries on the year at 6.6 ypc and 16 TDs Dude was overlooked by the fan base in pre-season and ended up having arguably the best season by a running back in in years. I hope he has a career similar to Tomlinson and I will be a fan until he retires.

Keep going Clyde. Mark Ingram??? Clyde is at another level, not even close.

I’m a big CEH fan too but not even close is bold. Ingram has had a pretty successful career both in the NFL and in college.

I was one of his doubters. I thought LSU would need to really get Davis-Price or Emory factored into the run game this year to get where we went. Clyde impressed the hell out of me. Game after game just seemed to get stronger and better. I agree with LT this guy has a chance to be one of the steals of the draft. You cant say enough about the level of fight in this man. Clyde you will be dearly missed.
