I would have skipped the Benz and the jewelry and dropped 600k in the house but to each his own

The jewelry retains the value, he lost 15% on the car the second he drove it off the lot.

Check any pawn shop to see if jewelry holds its value.

TigerDeacon, it would gold it's value if he went to the bank and used it to back some investments... no one legit is going to a pawn shop with 50k worth of jewelry.

Sounds unwise but it's less than 10% of his contract and he can cash in the house.

"I'm not a big jewelry guy." Spends 50K on jewelry.

If everything in the jewelry store was free, but I had to wear what I took, I would leave empty handed.

It seems like he has a good head on his shoulders and is listening to his financial advisor. I was expecting much worse tbh. Good for j jetts

I would’ve bought a bunch of land and a new bass boat. Then I would’ve taken the rest to my financial advisor. But I guess we’re a little different.

If someone signed a 700k signing bonus and got a 3.25k/year job nobody would bat an eye if he got a 100k car. I’m not seeing where he really spent all that much.

He saved more than you then.that 40-60k bass boat abs a NEW TRUCK and likely 5th wheel and toys you would have bought would have gone well into the 175 range. Of course your “bunch of land” was anywhere between 200-300 K depending on where you bought it for hunting alone. Don’t talk about a place on a nice fishing lake where they sell it by the sqft.

I’d spend at least $1M on cars, so enjoy yourself Justin.

How much does it cost him, monthly, to feed Jordan?

Bunch of figs in this thread. He got a 7 million dollar signing bonus. Typical rule of thumb for people coming into new money is to take 10% and go buy what every you want to get the spending out of your system. 700k is 10%. Seems like he is listening to his finance advisors. Seems he has a good head in his shoulders.

Lol at that rule of thumb.

That is the most embarrassing, humiliating, ridiculous image I’ve ever seen. What an absolutely horrible example to set. Really disappointed in J.J. Such a terrible example. Embarrassed for the school and the team.

What a pathetic comment. You should be embarrassed for yourself.

Dude! these people offended like he’s their kid or something, let him spend his money how he wants
user avatar

There are some serious idiots in this thread if they think this kid “wasted” his money. 455 went to BUYING AND FURNISHING HIS HOUSE! Fat asses on here need to calculate their food and beer budget and see if it comes to higher percentage than his “shoes and jeweler spend”. That was his FIRST million and not his whole freaking signing bonus. Like he said, he didn’t touch any of his game checks which was (3.2 + 7.2) - .5 for taxes and agent fees = banking about 4.5MM. 4.5 X .1% conservative growth = 4.9 MM banked. Dude will NEVER touch his game checks if he keeps his spend consistent. Really simple.

He didn’t do badly overall for a guy that’s likely going to make over 100 mil in his career. Some of you guys are acting like he was a UDFA that makes league minimum.

His most valued possessions appear to be the love he receives from his family and the community, who include us bloggers, as well. He seems happy to play football. What is the definition of success? Happiness! Seems like he has a lot of it. Who cares what he does with his money. He is successful and he sacrificed for his state flagship university, LSU and represents Louisiana well. Only kudos for him! Anybody hating on him or ridiculing him should take a hard look in the mirror.

If NFL football was not entertainment, not many of us would watch it. He is an NFL’er, which makes him an entertainer, as well.
