The New York Post is reporting that former LSU star Marcus Spears is signing a new big contract with ESPN.

quote:

In the coming weeks and months, ESPN is expected to have massive layoffs that will impact all areas of the company, including on-air personalities, but it is not stopping the network from investing in those it views as vital.

In that vein, ESPN has re-signed NFL analyst Marcus Spears to a multi-million dollar four-year deal, according to sources.

Spears, 40, has made a huge impact on ESPN.

He’s featured prominently on “NFL Live,” “First Take,” “Get Up” and he has a podcast with Kendrick Perkins.

He is expected to continue in his roles with the possibility for expansion over the course of the contract.

The rival SEC trolls posting on this site need to go post on your own fan sites. Go cry amongst yourselves about having LSU on your schedules and stop bashing our former and current athletes.

Unfortunately I do watch some games on ESPN. However, do not listen to any of these pundits including finebaum who all know probably less than I do about things and I know very little.

If he’s not the worst on ESPN, he’s real close. Must be letting go of some good guys.

Woke is a very broad and poorly defined word. If being woke means being aware of inequality, then every LSU athlete and coach is woke. If that is the case, why are there any anti-woke people are on this site? If it means being an extreme political Leftist thinking there are only two classes of people which are white supremacist and non-white supremacist, then none of those same people are woke. Lumping all people of any group is stigmatizing them. What is the definition of a person who stigmatize groups of people? Spears makes all of LSU proud.

Happy for Marcus but it’s hard to like anything ESPN/ABC/Disney/Budweiser = Woke.

LOL it’s not ‘woke’ to respect every person and who they are and how they live their life. It’s called being a mature adult.

Every corporation out there is ‘woke’ because it’s good for business. Your little piss arse $10 won’t even be missed.

I say I don’t like something (ESPN) and you accuse me for not accepting everyone for their own personal beliefs.??? Do you not see your own hypocrisy?

I get it, I was once young and liberal, but as I’ve matured and put more skin in the game, I don’t fall for the mob mentality, I use more common sense these days. Come back and comment when you put some real skin in the game junior. BTW sportjunkie69, a mature adult would have gotten over the 69 joke by now.

I hope they fire Reese Davis and Pat McAfee. College Gameday would be way better without them two worthless clowns.

Has he fixed his problem with "had did" and "had went"? I only watch ESPN and others for live sports. Don't watch the talk shows.

I have heard more than once that the ESPN model is to basically pay anyone that will sleep at the complex. That is why you often see the same people on 4-5 times a day.

Modern day slave labor. It’s like working for as an upper level manager for a large corporation. You’ll get paid very well, but you’ll have no life. Been there, done that multiple times. ESPN owns their souls and they can’t even see it.

It’s not modern day slave labor at all, if “you’ll get paid very well”. You fool.
