Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry has responded after LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen was served with court papers related to Ole Miss’ lawsuit against him.

Umanmielen was served Tuesday in the parking lot outside LSU’s Football Operations facility, just days before the Tigers travel to Oxford to face his former school. Ole Miss is seeking $550,000 from Umanmielen in a breach-of-contract lawsuit stemming from his transfer to LSU.

On Wednesday, Landry took to social media and directed a jab at Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter.
quote:

“The process server found Princewill in the LSU Football Ops parking lot. Keith Carter could have saved Ole Miss some money and waited until Saturday. He’ll be easy to find in the Ole Miss backfield often!”

Umanmielen has five sacks through LSU’s first two games, which leads the FBS entering Saturday’s matchup.

The Tigers and Rebels will meet Saturday in Oxford in a Top-10 SEC showdown.
