ESPN included LSU in their list of teams that are still in the playoff mix but have the Tigers trending down with just two games left to play. Here's what they had to say:
quote:

LSU Tigers

Trending: DOWN

They're alive. If we're left with three Power 5 unbeatens and a big mess of two-loss teams, which one is the committee taking over LSU? Not Washington State. Probably not Georgia, which lost to the Tigers by 20. Maybe Oklahoma (or WVU) if it wins the Big 12. Maybe Michigan (or Ohio State) if it loses close in Indianapolis. Or maybe the Tigers, who did themselves no favors by scheduling Rice, arguably the worst team in the FBS, on Saturday before closing at Texas A&M. If it boils down to 10-2 LSU or 12-0 UCF, well, just look at the CFP rankings this week (LSU No. 7, UCF No. 11).
Still alive folks.

Lol! LSU May get exceptionally lucky and back into a playoff spot but They stand virtually no chance without an offense.

That's just ESPN making a comment about Rice. Doesn't mean the committee will feel this way. They will take the season as a whole into account; or at least they should.

In case u missed it Bama doesn't need any help and certainly doesn't need to convince the CFP committee that there one of the best 4 teams since they've skull drug eveyone they've faced.

what's crazy is that going into the final week of 2007, we needed more to happen than this to get in.

they're actually going to fault us for scheduling rice when every team plays cupcakes and we've already had a top 5 schedule??

Amen. And, Bama is banged up now that they've actually played good defenses. Watch Aubbie beat em again to save Malzahn's job (again).

I think it is ludicrous, but if I they are going to try to fault us for playing Rice, it is not going to be because we play Rice, it is going to be because of when we play Rice. But it aint our fault, the damn SEC, leaves this week open for us (and others) and given the schedule we just went through, we sure as hell aren't going to go find a freakin Clemson to play.
