During last Saturday's ESPN Gameday, College Football analyst David Pollack said that LSU will "lose at least four more games" this season.

Pollack doubled down on his prediction Monday morning during a college football podcast. Per SaturdayDownSouth:
quote:

“I got news for you, and I said this on GameDay Saturday, LSU is going to lose at least four more games,” Pollack said. “This isn’t LSU that we are used to seeing. They are so thin on the defensive line, the offensive line. They just don’t… their recruiting has not been as good as people think it has been in the past. So I think they are going to struggle.”
Whats your prediction for LSU's record at the end of the season?

Hearing Pollack's prediction provides me with the first ray of hope I've had in two weeks for LSU football. If Pollack predicted today was Monday I'd have to check a calendar.

You hire a 10-23 head coach in the SEC. What do you expect? If we only lose 4 more, I would be shocked regardless of what people think other teams look like. We thought MSU was circa Dak, till UGA rolled their asses for a 30 pt win. Give it up sunshine pumpers. O is clueless.

O has been saying all year that they need to recruit the trenches better... He is not clueless, you just don't listen to him. He knows lines better than any position, and without making excuses, he's been telling us this was the case. Don't get me wrong, it does not change anything, and we are still not very good right now, but I feel like O has been trying to politely prepare us for this.

A clueless 10-23 coach that's making $3.5 million a year. Doesn't sound clueless to me. How you doin?

@Lexman1 Saying things like that make it obvious you will blindly support him regardless of poor tangible results

4 more loses isn't an unreasonable assessment. Neither is only 2 more loses and a trip to a major bowl. It depends on how much our young linemen can grow this season and how Canada can adjust to having an o line that isn't playing well. I think we struggle against Arky and A&M, get housed by Bama and maybe Auburn, and have a dogfight with Florida. Could very well lose all those games.

Hate to say it, I would be happy with only losing 4 more games this year.

The issue is depth and available ready players to rotate in and out. You have to have at least two players for each line position available to substitute in and out all game. We are alarmingly thin on the lines. That will lose games from fatigue alone.

Becoming bowl eligible is going to be a challenge i think.

Hate to say it. But he's probably right.

He's 100% right but it's going to be 5 games I believe

What he said is not at all unreasonable.

As much as I hate to admit it, I don't think Dave is wrong. This is UNLESS we improve a lot on Offense and get our injured Defensive players back on the field for depth.

That’s a reasonable expectation. I haven’t seen a worse OL this year in the SEC than LSU’s.
