During last Saturday's ESPN Gameday, College Football analyst David Pollack said that LSU will "lose at least four more games" this season.

Pollack doubled down on his prediction Monday morning during a college football podcast. Per SaturdayDownSouth:
quote:

“I got news for you, and I said this on GameDay Saturday, LSU is going to lose at least four more games,” Pollack said. “This isn’t LSU that we are used to seeing. They are so thin on the defensive line, the offensive line. They just don’t… their recruiting has not been as good as people think it has been in the past. So I think they are going to struggle.”
Whats your prediction for LSU's record at the end of the season?

yes! the bowl game opponent shouldn't be tough after 4 more losses and LSU will get to 8 wins after the bowl win. The century of winning 8 games a year continues!

Miles started it in the 2011 season when he pulled Lee and put in jailbird Jefferson and blew the National Championship. We regressed since then and it takes time to fix it. Period! This is on Miles. Not O!

maybe he right, most likely he's wrong. I'm thinking 3-4 tops. but for real, when will this dude get over the absolute beat downs we gave his arse at UGA?

Pollack was on the UGA team that beat LSU 45-16 in 2004. I'm just saying.

Pollack. Coates Hall. Weird stuff. arse whoopins in 2003. Hurt butt syndrome. But he may not be wrong.

Hate to say it, I would be happy with only losing 4 more games this year.

I think he's wrong. The young players will get better and too much is being made of the Syracuse game. The reason the game was close is because O wanted to see how Brennan performed under a little pressure. The offense had just hit it's stride with Etling and the deep ball, and Darrell Williams was also in a groove. Had they been left in, it never would have been close. I think this team has a shot at 9 or 10 wins this year. We still have loads of talent and they're getting experience each week. As far as not recruiting well, if Teuhema was on the o-line and Shelvin was on the d-line, I think Mr. Pollack would have to change his assessment. But, shite happens and you move forward. LSU has the money and the resources to compete year in and year out, but when you lose so many juniors every year to the NFL, that's hard to replace. We are still and will continue to be relevant in college football! Fear not Tiger Fans!

I don't care if we go 11-1 or 8-4. It's a new regime an it won't change overnight. There were many bad habits and issues from prior regime which take time to fix. Period. Geaux tigers

I guess whoever down voted me expected 12-1 or doesn't think Miles left a lot of issues.

Whatever makes you feel good about a poor hire. The reason we are thin on the Oline has nothing to do with habits or Grimes. Your boy O and Canada screwed the pooch on that. Teheuma is worth 2-4 wins alone. Strength, continuity and experience on the offensive line is what gets it going in the run game and ultimately makes that play action pass work. 5 players that could have contributed left during this past off season from that position alone. What's changed from the #1 Oline in the country last season to this one?

Exactly right, comalking. It will gradually improve each week as long as we don't have any more injuries on either line. I promise the trenches and wr/rb will be the main focus in recruiting for next year. As for your point, Tiger1988, you are spot on about Teheuma and the other linemen who left. But how can you say the coach is a poor hire when none of us know why they left. I've heard rumors of failed drug tests. Criminal or academic issues. Who knows? The coach cannot be blamed for poor decisions by the players. I don't think O would let an All-SEC lineman walk without good reason. Sounds like he's cleaning up the program moving forward.

I'm thinking 3 more loses (UF, AU, & UA). I think 2018 will be worse. We could very well lose to Miami, Bama, UGA, @ UF, and @ AU.

No LSU will be a shite ton better in 2018 because we will finally have talent and experienced depth almost everywhere it is needed most. I predicted 8-4/9-3 this year because I knew Etling at QB, and being weak and inexperienced on both lines, would be our downfall.
