Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports says that LSU running back Leonard Fournette could be drafted No. 1 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

The keyword is "could" as many believe Texas A&M's Myles Garret will go No. 1 to the Browns.
quote:

Some have suggested to me that Fournette is even in play at No. 1 with the Browns. Yes, you read that correctly. I don’t see that happening, and in the end, I suspect the Browns take pass rusher Myles Garrett. But then again, the Browns are capable of some extreme curve balls in that front office and their version of analytics tends to swing outside of convention. Maybe someone believes the devaluation of running backs has gone too far.

How high do you think Fournette will be selected in the NFL Draft?

Given the history of this franchise I'd say there is a strong possibility they'll screw up and draft him first overall.

Cleveland Brown draft choices: The proverbial "kiss of death".

Hopefully Fournette and Adams will go to AFC teams that way the Saints won't have to play them twice a year, like they do with division opponents.

Even if Fournette goes number 1, Guice will go higher next year because Guice >> Fournette

I love how a bunch of people are saying no not the browns! Why not exactly? It's not like they haven't had successful players before and they have a pretty solid OL now should they mesh with a decent WR Group and supposed offensive guru at HC, should they find a competent QB Leonard Fournette will have everything he needs to succeed.

Dude, you just regurgitated the same preseason analysis for the browns that has applied for more than a decade now.. they're always a QB, an offensive line, a good RB, and a competent defense away from being contenders

Because it's been since Bernie Kosar since they have been close to relevant, and 75-80% if the under 40-year olds prob don't even know who that is

I sure hope they do pick him, that would increase the odds we get a good DE pick at #11, I hope just about everyone goes with offense picks in the top 10 picks

I hope Garrett goes to the Browns so Fournette has a shot at a good career.

Yes, it will shock everyone! The next Jim Brown will right that ship. IMO better than Garrett...

Fournette isn't falling past the Jaguars. Unless the Jags get out of that 4th spot he gone early regardless.

If the Saints really wanted to endear themselves to LSU, let's trade the whole draft for the No. 1 pick and bring LF7 home, but, oh year, SCREW THE FREAKIN' BAMA SAINTS....

I mean I wish the Saints drafted more LSU players. But to think that a team would intentionally make their team worse by trading every draft pick just to grab an LSU player is quite asinine.

I'd rather the Browns draft him over going to Carolina......same with Jamal Adams

Id love to see Fournette or Adam to go first for the prestige (they both deserve it) But I would much rather see someone from the Yell Team get stuck in Cleveland worked out well for the last one.

Adams.... Are we ever going to get an edit button?

He should be the first pick, but let's hope for him and all LSU fans that Cleveland keeps thinking like Cleveland always does and passes on him.

Garrett's work ethic should fit in fine up there.
