LSU's 2026 schedule was released on Thursday night and features several marquee games in Lane Kiffin's first year as head coach. Here's what it looks like:

2026 LSU Football Schedule:
Sep 5: Clemson
Sep 12: Louisiana Tech
Sep 19: at Ole Miss
Sep 26: Texas A&M
Oct 3: McNeese State
Oct 10: at Kentucky
Oct 17: Mississippi State
Oct 24: at Auburn
Oct 31: Bye
Nov 7: Alabama
Nov 14: Texas
Nov 21: at Tennessee
Nov 28: at Arkansas

During the SEC Network's Schedule reveal show, analyst Cole Cubelic suggested that LSU has the most challenging stretch to end the season. Per SDS:
quote:

“We know what that (Alabama) game means. That’s one where the physicality is always extra,” Cubelic said during the conference’s schedule reveal show. “That game is usually a bloodbath. So what do you get to do the next week? Turn around and play Texas.

“Then you get to go to Tennessee, one of the most difficult places to play on Earth. Then you go to Arkansas. So, your final 2 games (are) on the road after you play Alabama and Texas. That is a behemoth of a stretch to close the season.

Texas at home. We better not sell them good seats. …I know, we will.

Meanwhile UGA’s schedule is laughingly easy.

At least when we get to that stretch of Alabama, Texas and @Tennessee we're have some type of cohesiveness. I'm more worried about starting out the gate with Clemson, @Ole Miss and Texas A&M in 4 weeks. I can't say how Lane Kiffin starts off his seasons, but LSU is notorious for starting slow. We will have to be on point from the start or Lane Kiffins first season will be a learning experience nothing more.

Clubnic also said last night that Mississippi State had the toughest schedule in the SEC. So I wouldn't go much by what he says

What are the chances that Kiffin visits both of his former SEC head coaching locations in his first year at LSU?

Looks about the same as always. We’re always in the top 10.

On paper today that's a really tough stretch. Likely one of Bama/Tennessee/Texas won't be that good next year so it's 2 big games out of 3. Arkansas usually plays LSU tough but not near as good as the others and they are rebuilding.

It’s a difficult schedule, but this program is 2-3 years away from being ready to compete at the top of the conference anyway. And that’s if everything goes right, we don’t have anything that even resembles a competent QB in the pipeline

bullshite. Brian Kelly made the SEC championship his first year, and he had for fewer players and lessvability to hit the portal

That sounds realistic at this stage. But you can't really guess at next year until we have a roster in place. The transfer portal will tell the tale as to weather we are better or worse that your prediction
