CFB Writer: The LSU Job Is The Most Attractive On The Market & Jimbo Fisher Is Top Target

Last week, Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports suggested that Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher is Scott Woodward's top target to be LSU's next head coach.

This week it's National College Football reporter Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports who agrees that Fisher is at the top of Woodward's wish list.

Thamel thinks that "LSU job is the most attractive on the market," and if it is not Fisher, Woodward could target James Franklin, Luke Fickell, Dave Aranda, Lane Kiffin or Mel Tucker.

It would never happen. Political correctness will shut that down with the quickness. But, LSU could do a LOT worse than bringing in the only other HC to have ever won NCs at multiple schools besides the magical, midget Gump.

I do not either. The guy has lost 35 games in 12 years as an HC. That includes early losses at TAMU (9 in first 2 seasons) when he was building it up to get to the point they are now, which is very good. TAMU has lost 3 games, the 2 years including wins against #1 Gumps this year and #4 Florida last year. Anyone who thinks he would not rock and roll here is crazy. I think a lot of people are still butt hurt about 2016. He is not my #1 either, that would be Lincoln, but Jimbo would roll here too.

So Woodward and boosters are going to pay out Os entire staff and then pay the Aggies some crazy amount, likely ~90 million and pay Jimbo and his staff MORE money to coach here? I think if you look at just the numbers on this deal there’s very little chance we get the ROI we hope for. Don’t buy that he’s our choice unless there’s something I’m not seeing.
