"That's misinformation. Not based on any facts. It's silly that it's out there."
quote:Kelly also talked about the plan with Nussmeier during the bye week, and the healing process:
"Early on, he had an ab strain, not a core injury," Kelly said. "And it's been slow to heal. He's on the backside of that, and he's getting rest this week, and he'll be the Garrett Nussmeier that he needs to be as we get into the very difficult part of our schedule."

"A lot of mental work, in terms of film study and looking at what he's done this year and what he wants to get better at," Kelly said.
"He was really good on Saturday in the run game checks and getting the ball out when we didn't have fair numbers. We want to build on that. And we want to build on his consistency in terms of, in the pocket."
"Our training staff and physicians have treated him with medications. That's been part of the procedures and protocol."
"We knew coming into this bye week that this was going to be the time for us not to push him. This is where he could really, truly be the best version of himself. I think our training staff has done a great job. And I think you will see the best football as we move forward, from Garrett Nussmeier."
