Head coach Ed Orgeron announced Wednesday night that junior pass rusher Arden Key will not play in LSU's Bowl Game vs. Notre Dame on Jan. 1.

Orgeron also confirmed yesterday's report that linebacker Donnie Alexander and Corey Thompson will not play in the Citrus Bowl either.

Cameron Gamble will also miss the LSU's postseason game, as he's ineligible, Orgeron said.

Key is gone. If he was coming back next year he'd wrap up the hurt finger and get out there. All this drama is crap and a sad attempt to save face somehow. We've been given a load of drama for the entire season from Key. He should have just sat out this year and let the team develop without him. I don't wish him anything but success. However, honesty would have been nice at some point this year. That goes for him and the coaches. We were told all season how he was progressing and would be ready to go for the team. Well, that lasted about two good games. The rest he was either out of shape or missed for various injuries. Let's move on and focus on the players that want to be here.

Not worried about Key not playing. He’s been out most of the year anyway. As long as Rashard, D. White, and Greedy suit up, we’ in business! And Guice will play. He’s already stated that. And I believe he’s a man who does what he says! I’m just ready to get it on and see some Tiger football!

Linebackers skipping bowl game is weak sauce. Put your purse down ladies and get in the f’n game.

Key has that Clowny syndrome, makes a few good play and gets blown up by the media....they rides the potential train into the NFL. Should be good the year before his free agency.

Not having Corey Thompson out there kinda sucks. The other two? Eh.

It’s true. Hard to support a team where you know there is no passion for putting on the jersey.

Gotta disagree with you on that, tigerfoot. Guys like Etling, Guice, Williams, Moore, and Lacouture epitomize the passion for putting on the jersey. For every player who cares more about #1,you can find a half dozen who play for their team.

Which makes accepting a culture where going to the NFL trumps the going on the field with your teammates more difficult

Nah Guice already said he's playing. Barring a freak injury he will play.

If I was them I would want to play against Notre Dame. As a fan I would also like to see them chump ND.

Sure you would. Sorry but you cant possibly imagine the situation these guys are in, you get hurt playing in a meaningless extra game and you could lose out on Millions!!! I doubt very many of us msg board warriors would take that chance either so just stop it already. Yall just sound foolish.

I was raised when ND was a top football school. So yes, I would. I am not trying to imagine their situation in my post. What I said was clearly my thought, from a fan's perspective. Since you replied to me, I assume you are talking to me. Almost nothing in your post is about anything I spoke of. What exactly are you wanting me to stop, and why did I look foolish for saying, from a fan's perspective, I would like to see them beat ND really badly.

Not gonna bash Arden. Tons of talent but questionable dedication and motivation. I'm sure he will be a high draft choice, but will he be productive at the next level? Best of luck to you Arden Key.

Not going to bash Arden, just going to question his dedication and motivation

Key was never the key but the lock that prevented backups from learning what he cared not to learn. Will cost him a NFL round maybe two.

So Arden key will be a 3rd round pick or a 4th round pick if he choose to go pro this year and fore go his senior year? He only played I think 5 games his junior year. If he get picked in 1st or 2nd round, you basing off a sophomore year?

Cameron Gamble was in Computer Science working on a commercial app. Either he failed some really killer finals, or he's going the Zuckerberg/Gates "don't need higher learning route". I hope it's the latter.

I would have bet my left nut that Arden Key wasn’t playing. Meaningless bowl game
