Just earlier this week it was reported that New Orleans five-star quarterback Arch Manning was narrowing his list of top schools to Texas and Alabama.

Manning's father, Cooper, recently spoke with 247Sports to refute that report and added LSU and Florida in the mix for his son's recruitment.
quote:

A recent report that 2023's No. 1 recruit Arch Manning is down to two schools is not true, his father Cooper told 247Sports on Wednesday.

In fact, because of regime changes at a few SEC schools, you can add two more programs to the mix for the five-star quarterback: Florida and nearby LSU.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Manning still has a keen eye on Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas, schools he visited during the summer and returned for games during the fall. It's a good bet that those four plus the twosome of LSU and Florida will get Manning on campus in the spring or summer.
Many around LSU have always thought Manning would be heading to college outside of Louisiana but the new coaching staff in Baton Rouge with Brian Kelly and company could make things interesting as his senior season heats up next fall.

For more info on Manning, visit his profile page on our 2023 Recruiting Tracker.

Business is business. Could you imagine the jersey and ticket sales with a good Manning playing in BR and in Louisiana? That would be crazy money from sales. Arches greatest long term financial value realization would be playing for LSU. It is that simple. If he started for LSU and played well his value would enter the Joe Burrow LSU sales category in no time. Coach Kelly will get offensive line blockers ready. You can book that.

I think it is an extreme long shot that he comes to LSU. However, Family and friends mean a lot to the Mannings…where else but LSU could all of his family and all of his friends see him play every down of his college career?

if anything it's a Saban plant to screw with our legitimate QBs and prospects. No Manning's are coming to LSU. Move on.

They paid a reporter to say this to keep the pressure off of him for his senior year. The manning are busy driving around Louisiana trying to recruit players to Newman to help him. Fid anyone follow Newman all year...he had several subpar games in reference to a 5*. And he was healthy. Walker Howard, at a much larger school and higher level of competition, breaks his leg and still makes it back to lead em to the semis basically ON HIS OWN... ...and somehow some stupid fricks somewhere keep Arch at a 5 and lower Walker. It's amazing any of you clowns pay a penny for "info" from a recruiting or pay site! Newman could go 0-10 and arch could average only 250 yds per game, and there's NO way they would drop a Manning below a 5. It's comical. Hes NOT considering LSU

Let's all understand this is a bidding war. The Mannings are good business men. Having LSU in the war helps drive the price up.

He would have a little less competition at LSU than at Bama, UGA or UT

The Mannings have been good to New Orleans and Louisiana in spite of the Ole Miss - LSU rivalry. Wish the best to Arch, wherever he goes, to be as successful as his predecessors. Geaux Tigahs!

Is the topic entertaining, yes... is it realistically, no.

So Cooper Manning is a business man in New Orleans, so from a BUSINESS standpoint, do you think he should be saying otherwise

This kid is ahead of Eli and Peyton, at the same age. Howard more polished than Arch. But, the ceiling is very high for each. One can not ignore Manning’s HOF QB support system and high ceiling field general potential.

"One can not ignore Manning’s HOF QB support system" So, why isn't he the more polished one? Or, is he as polished as can be?

Saban told him to be sure to torture the LSU fan base with false hope just to sign with Bama anyway…

The weird thing is that if Manning comes to LSU, the same Manning haters on this site will be his biggest fan. What his wrong with having Howard and Manning on the same team? This is hilarious!
