Four-star quarterback Myles Brennan remains committed to the Tigers but is exploring his options.

Brennan decided last week to re-open his recruitment and has since then heard from new schools like Florida, Florida State, Michigan and Notre Dame, according to the Sun Herald.
quote:

“They contacted me. That’s something I’ll definitely look into,” Brennan said of the Irish and the Wolverines. “They were basically just coming out and saying ‘hey,’ so we’ll see where that goes.”
The pro-style passer from Bay St. Louis, MS will likely wait to see who LSU hires as their new offensive coordinator before making a final decision.
quote:

Brennan said all the talk could end up being just that — talk — if LSU hires the right offensive coordinator.

“That’s going to play a big part in it. I guess when that happens I can start moving forward with a decision. I’m certainly going to take my visits.”
Brennan's decision to reopen his recruitment last week came just one day after LSU offered the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is currently committed to Alabama.

Y'all are ridiculous. If this was your kid and he had serious potential would you blindly send him to a school that just went out of its way to say they didn't want him? No reason to offer Tua. One month ago you said you wanted pro style, no you say dual threat. There's no QB coach or OC. There no plan, there's nothing, I don't blame the kid at all for looking around.

How the hell do you know what their plan is lol some of you people think you know what's going on but you are putting pieces to a very broken puzzle together and are basically cutting pieces of that puzzle to make it fit your own reality. I have a feeling he will just come right back to LSU, he's not going to Michigan, or FL, he's coming to LSU. He knows what we have here and could win lots of games. FL will eventually fall apart while LSU just needs to find a few pieces. He's one of them IMO, maybe O did it to show our fans that he will go after the best QBs in the county while challenging Bama somethjng we all wanted bf. Now that he's doing it y'all bitch like little girls. Pathetic people you guys are.

I don't know what they're doing. No one does. Including the Brennan's. That's the whole goddamn point. Read more.

So you offered a QB that has a week and a half left before enrolling in a school that he's been committed to for 8 months to show your fans that your not scared of Bama? How about get on a fuching plan and bring Dylan home. Don't rock the boat when you have great QBs already committed. Truth is that everyone's trying desperately to make this look like "O's master plan" but in truth it was a senseless fuch up that may cost LSU its best QB committ in the past decade.

No offense to the kid, but the coordinator didn't bother you before?

Would love to have Myles, but everyone here needs to come to reality. LSU needs to realize we need a qb, and this kid is a great get. Myles needs to realize lsu is a great school, regardless of what is going on. He also needs to realize that wherever he goes, he will face competition to be the starter and most good schools bring in more than 1 qb a year. We as lsu fans need to support whoever decides to come here and wish their best. There is no point in constant complaining because most of us have no relevance to the program. That being said- I would love to get the kid on the lsu team, but if he decides to go elsewhere, I won't be losing any sleep.

I have faith in Orgeron as a recruiter, we know he's one of the best, but this was a real head scratcher for me. Why risk screwing things up with Myles for another player who was at best a long shot to come here this late in the game? Now, LSU has opened the door for other programs. I wouldn't be so concerned if these were pedestrian programs like Ole Miss coming after him, but now you have some of the best in country giving him interest. That's a major concern. Orgeron needs to put full court on Myles asap.

He his doing absolute right in his decision to reopen his recruitment.. One minute Oeaux was all about pro style qbs..then he's bumping his gums to the media that he wants a qb who can definitely run and wing it..damn BrUh make up your mind already..then offer a cat you haven't recruited at all this year.. So with those kind of mixed signals do y'all blame this kid really?

Myles was all LSU until Coach O started talking about running the Spread. Myles decision is, technically, not based on the OC, but rather on the type of offense LSU runs, Pro-Style or Spread. If LSU runs the prostyle, he is good to go, if LSU runs the Spread, he will be lookings at other schools who are committed to the ProStyle. That's all there is to it. Why would a pocket/proset qb want to go to a school committed to the Spread? They wouldn't, plain and simple.

I hope we get a pro style OC. Or someone who can coach both (Kiffen). Myles is exactly the QB LSU needs. We have plenty of guys who can make plays with the ball in their hands. We need a QB that can get them the ball. Brennan brings that to the table. Given Narciss' injury history and the numbers Brennan has put up, I believe in Brennan over Narciss.

I'm sure Coach O has spoken to Myles about his plan for him. No one knows what happens behind closed doors. It could even be a ploy to make other teams such as Florida think they have a shot, and then burst their bubble on NSD! If not, we've got options. O is not basing the future of this program on 1 player, nor should he. Last I checked, Myles is still committed to LSU. Relax and let it all work itself out.

@Lexman1 Last you checked?... You may want to check again. He is not committed to LSU. He opened up his recruitment.

Almost every morning, I wake up wishing I could sleep longer. If I went to bed right now, I would get a little more than 11 hours of sleep. Will I go to bed soon? No. I will stay up for another 4-5 hours and get between 6 and 7 hours of sleep. It's almost self-destructive but I guess it's just who I am.

The boy seems to have gotten a little attitude because LSU had the "audacity" to offer a top QB who is probably never even coming on a visit. Son, if that's how you feel then you probably need to go elsewhere because after what LSU has been through at QB in the last 7-8 years LSU is going to find a damn QB one way or another. We have had kids promise to come and go to MLB or not sign on signing day without even a telephone call to LSU to say he changed his mind. So I know you said you were in love with LSU and it is where your heart is but look at just how little it took for you to haul arse? Get real. If you want to be at LSU then stop whining and come on to Baton Rouge. If you don't then that is fine too.

Why offer a kid you have no shot at and jeopardize solid recruits at a position of big time need? He recognizes his talent and doesn't want to commit to a place that may look to go a different direction for the future. Sounds like a smart move. I'd look my options over too.
user avatar
Vacherie Saint89 months
Well, that and the new head coach saying he wants a dual threat qb. That's kind of a big deal if you are Brennan. The kid wants to be a tiger, but if the new staff adopts an offense he can't run, he has every right to go somewhere where he can play and thrive.

Yeah C'mon to LSU baww we're a badass school that's produced 1 NFL QB in the past decade paww-ting.

Here's my thinking. LSU all along was taking 2 QB's. What if the offer to the Hawaii kid was a back up to Lowell? At least that's what they should have said to Myles? JMO

I hate the "no chest" argument. College players have only 4 years to play college ball. If a QB goes to the wrong school (wrong coordinator, wrong scheme, severe competition at QB, etc.) he risks wasting years of his playing career, which is unacceptable. If I'm a college QB, I want to play - not sit the bench for 2 or 3 years hoping to get my chance down the road. That doesn't make me less of a "true competitor." I just want to play.
