Three-star running back Tae Provens from Gurley, AL signed his National Letter of Intent with LSU during Thursday's early signing period.

The 6-0, 190-pound prospect from Madison County HS gave his verbal commitment to LSU back in June, choosing the Tigers over offers from Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Louisville, USC, UCLA, and others.

The Tigers now have 19 total signees for the class of 2018 with the addition of Provens. He joins four-star RB Chris Curry as LSU's two running back signees. The Tigers will also to look to add four-star uncommitted running back Harold Joiner in February.

The coaching staff will get a signature from four-star DE commit Jarell Cherry on Friday and his hoping for uncommitted five-star WR Terrace Marshall to sign with LSU tomorrow as well.

He’s going to be a gem @ LSU... he will get bigger, stronger and faster... he has great vision and can cut on a dime besides catching the ball out of the back field ...a diamond in the rough... looking forward to seeing him run the ball for the Tigers... Welcome aboard!!!....

I just have a feeling that this young man will have a big impact at LSU at some point in his career, and think he will start fairly early. Possibly a 1st year RS but you never know. I think he plays his second year for certain, no matter the RS or not. Welcome Tae Provens! You're underrated IMO buddy!!

Stealing a guy like Provens out of Ala. who did not recruit him means one thing...... he will strive to prove Saban wrong and beat the Tide everytime he laces up

Great signing! I love this early signing period. Now we know what we have, basically, and it looks like a group of quality young men! They can get acclimated to college life and be ready to hit the ground running in the spring! Throw in a few top targets on NSD, and O’s first class is looking like money in the bank! Very excited right now!

Any idea why his 40 time is 4.73 on ESPN? Looks faster in the video?

He's very fast. Very fast. I'm guessing the 19 guys they have signed includes the grad transfer K we signed.

The Kicker is a grad transfer and won’t count as a signee.

Normally, I'd bitch about 3 stars, but this one I like. That profile picture is definitely of a guy who does not intend to suck.
