Former LSU coach Les Miles, who was recently hired to the be the head coach at Kansas, extended an offer to four-star LSU linebacker commit Donte Starks on Sunday.

The 6-1, 225-pound prospect from Marrero, La. (John Ehret) is rated the No. 8 inside linebacker in the country and the No. 8 overall player from the state of Louisiana for the class of 2019, according to 247 Sports.

He committed to LSU back in July.

Les is still one of the best Recruiter in the country. He'll get what he need to be competitive. Good luck CLM

Me thinks Kansas is a prime football program to take over in the BIG 12. It can potentially become a LSU equivalent in the coming years.

Exactly what I would expect Les to do...one of his strongest points was his ability to recruit and he spent over a decade building relationships with Louisiana coaches and players. Of course he will dip into our talent pool, just as Jimbo Fisher will do.

But Orgeron said we're comin' and we ain't backing down so there is no need to worry about two superior head coaches recruiting against him here in Louisiana. I'm sure the binder holds the secrets needed for Orgeron to keep our homegrown talent at home!

Don’t blame him at all. Likely to offer a lot of already committed players. Not likely to get many. Good thing he is a few years removed less likely to have a strong relationship with a kid who was a freshman in high school when Les was active.

It’s a win win for him. Zero expectations. If he offers 10 recruits and pulls 1 he has done a great job for that team.

Set up the Home and Home now...except play here first then bail out on having to go to Dorothyville later.

So now Miles is LOOKING for recruits who might not necessarily have the chest to play for LSU. Enjoy the ride KU.

Let’s not start this business of offering current LSU commits Les, regardless of the low chance of them de-commiting.

Let's not act like Miles and Kansas are the only ones doing this sort of thing. I seem to recall o offering Bama commit Tua Tagovailoa a scholarship right after he was named the head coach in 2016.

Not quite the same thing Earl, but agree well within Les's rights.

as he should, its his job to make KU the best. Now, I think his chances are low, but he must put KU in the best chance to win. We will have this turf war going forward.
