Talented LSU baseball transfer Jacob Berry is projected to be Collegiate Baseball’s 2022 National Player Of The Year.

Berry transferred to LSU from Arizona this offseason, following new head coach Jay Johnson to Baton Rouge.

The first team All-Americans include Collegiate Baseball’s projected 2022 National Player Of The Year in 3B/DH Jacob Berry of Louisiana St.

The transfer switch-hitter from the University of Arizona hit .352 last season with 17 homers, 19 doubles, 5 triples and 70 RBI as a freshman for the Wildcats.

He was named Co-National Freshman Player of The Year in 2022 by Collegiate Baseball and is expected to be a high first round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft with another good season.

Could legit be a competition between 2 Tigers with Crews and Berry. This season is going to be awesome. Can't wait!

Funny how so many here cry about immediate eligibility, yet it may have given us our best basketball and baseball player this year.

Only issue with Ricks was because it happened with a hated Division Rival. This isn't the same scenario.

Having Crews, Berry and Morgan is going to really allow some of the other guys in the lineup to see some really good pitches.

LSU's last winner was Ben McDonald in '89. Rickie Weeks of Southern won in 2003.

Looks like scoring runs wont be an issue but do the Tigers have enough talent on the mound & in the bullpen to win the SEC, Host a Super & make it to Omaha? Hopefully the injury bug wont strike LSU again this season.

How about a big 'knock on wood'. Those are some lofty projections. Love it though...
