Damn, awfully grumpy this AM. As a Bama fan, no one is crying for us or with us. We controlled our destiny and lost to OU and that doomed us. However, to Saban's point - he's correct. All the P4 conferences should stop scheduling hard(er) OOC games, clearly this years playoffs showed there's no real point.

No Alabama fan I know thought AL deserved to be in the playoff. What gets us though is giving Boise and AZ State byes. Anyone of the top 8-9 teams could win this as no one is particularly good. AL is as good as any but lack the consistency to win 4 games in a play-off. The Committee made a mockery of itself by saying AL was #11 and leaving them out. Dumb move on their part.

I think giving conference champions byes is a good way to balance-out the big conferences power of hogging all the byes for themselves against the supposedly lesser conferences. In the end, if we want a national playoff, we need the entire country represented and somewhat balanced from a playoff schedule perspective.

Correct. That's his point. There's no benefit for P4 schools to schedule games against each other. He mentioned Bama vs. ND was scheduled for the future. There's no benefit for teams in the SEC to schedule decent-to-tough OOC games when each conference game is already hard enough.

This is simply not true... Do I wish he had stayed at LSU and that LSU had the success that the gumps had the last decade and some, of course we do! But every LSU fan I know appreciates Saban for what he did at LSU... I speak for myself, but I have nothing but respect for coach Saban even though I hated that he was coaching the team I love to hate more than any other team.
