Looking for a new shotgun

I need a good general purpose shotgun. 12 gauge semiautomatic 3 1/2 that will eject low brass shells. My old Winchester will not eject them. Looking to stay around 1000 bucks

Not to be that guy but can you get by without the need for 3 1/2 shells? If so I have THE gun for you. Beretta A300 ultima. You can get the black synthetic version right now for $699. Beyond that I would look at the Franchi Affinity 3 and the SX4. The only guns I can think of right off hand that about 3.5’s under $1000 is sometimes the SX4 if you catch one on sale for $950ish or Stoeger m3500.

A300 is an excellent choice. Mine has been thur hell and back and always goes boom. Rejects everything i feed it.
Zero need for 3.5 shells for me....

A friend has an ATA Arms NeoX, it’s an Academy brand that’s $400, we both like it a lot, it’s pretty much the identical gun as the Weatherby Element that cost $700, shoots good and ejects light load hulls good, might be worth a look for you.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about beretta and benelli I just haven’t shot them. I like my Winchester but I’m open to any suggestions. I need a quality gun

I’d have recommended the SBE3 or A400 extreme plus but you said your budget was $1000. I’ve been seeing some very good prices on Browning Maxuss 2 guns lately but even still they’re in that $1400-1500 range. The Franchi listed is probably your best bet.

Winchester SX4. You can get a 3.5 camo for $1000.00. Love mine. Been using it for 4 years for dove and duck with no issues. Not heavy and great recoil.

What is the value of the 3.5" shells anymore? When they first came out they were all the rage but today's 3" shells are awesome.
Unless you make very long shots on geese for numerous goose hunts a year i just dont see any value add with a 3.5".

Grab a gun. It might be $599 with the $100 mail in rebate now too but I’m not sure. Use the grab a quote feature and they’ll send you the 699 price

Almost no need for 3.5" anymore with the shell tech now.
If you are a baller- new A5 or super black eagle 3.
If you're a regular dude- Beretta A300.
If you're a man of culture find a NOS or lightly used SBE 2, maxus, an og A5, or an A390 or browning B80.
I will shoot my A390 until I can't hunt anymore. And then my kids will get to hunt with it.

They discontinued the Masi Mara? Wow I didn’t realize that. I honestly thought the Ace and Ace-R was meant to be their “value line” because that’s how they’d been marketing them. I saw they recently came out with an Ace Paloma.

Agreed, shite 3.5” when you could buy Kent fast steel at Ed’s in Kaplan for $10/bx. For $1 more it was a no brained 05-07.
Ballistics are better with 3” anyway.
