Harlem Berry, Caden Durham

Dilin Jones is an amazing running back. He had amazing an amazing running back IQ. He reminds me of the late Marion Barber. You never know when he will go for a long run, along with his cuts in space. He also has good leg strength and amazing upper body strength as well. This is not even half of what he bring to the running back room.
However, Harlem Berry and Caden Durham have been on the roster and has proven more than their worth; yet their touches are very limited and especially Berry, their touches has been limited for the past 2-3 years; yet they both stay on the active roster.
Last year when Brian Kelly was the coach, Berry did not get many carries either, except for cleanup duty. This year its the same with Lane Kiffin. What's going on? This year, Berry has been doing cleanup duty as well (4th quarter), but the first 3 quarters, its been all Dilin Jones. Durham is in and out; but mostly out.
Why is Berry and Durham not getting touches? Last year, Durham was getting more touches than Berry, until Jones showed up this year. Have anyone figured out LSU's RB rotation? How come since they know a new stud is here, they wont go to the portal to be the featured back somewhere else? More important, what is LSU telling them for them to stick around as the years go by and they are NOT getting touches to be on film to be used for the draft?

in 4th quarter mop up duty, yes. Not early in the game, at least not consistently.

i understand the sentiment, but im fine trusting weis and kiffin and their observations of practice. also, according to some gurus, the issue is pass blocking with berry and durham. i wouldn't know - i dont really watch football games in an "x's and o's" analytical kind of way

Your past doesn't get you playing time. If you get beat in practice, then you sit the bench. That's life.

Harlem missed a couple assignments when he got his chance earlier in the game, but he redeemed himself with some nice runs later in the game.

They both go down too easy on first contact. Berry did decent last night but neither one of them are the same caliber back as Jones. They both have been pretty mid. They’ve had their moments but I don’t see how some of y’all can’t tell the gap between them and Jones.

Berry has definitely earned the #2, spot; Stacy Gage brings nothing.

For the millionth time, Lane Kiffin does not believe in running back by committee. He has one bell cow running back who gets the bulk of the carries. The quarterback is almost always the #2 rusher on the team in Lane’s offense. That’s how it works. Moscona has explained this a hundred times, and it’s been talked about in this forum many times.
Nothing is owed to Harlem Berry or Caden Durham other than their NIL money. They’ve been beaten out. They’re free to transfer next year if they want to. Durham has two more years of eligibility and Berry has three more.

Berry is a very talented back. They tried to get him involved earlier in the game this time because they know he's talented. Obviously he has blocking issues. But I guarantee the coaches want him to live up his potential so they have another weapon at RB.
But until he performs the way they want him to, he will continue to get mop up duty

They tried to give Berry a series when the game was still competitive, he was lost from a blocking stand point. Was supposed to be the lead blocker for Leavitt on a designed run and Sam literally had to push him out of the way because he was just standing there lost.

Joe Cox said at the coaches show this week, in reference to what they are looking for at the TE position. With the high tempo offense, they can't make substitutions because they are trying to get to the line and run plays quick. So they need players that can do everything.
This is the case with the RBs also. If you cant do something, they are less likely to get you in the game when they can't sub you out.
Berry is not a complete back. Hes electric with the ball in space and they are trying to give him the chance to be RB2 but hes having to work to be a more complete back.
