My doctor actually prescribed me some kind of medication from the last time I flew there.
Diamox? Came here to recommend this. I take it every time I'm going up in elevation bc I've had some terrible experiences with altitude sickness. Works great...

re: Kind of a weird ask, but is it possible to get one piling in BR area? - tiger693
IOW, dont get a creosote treated pole.
definitely not creosote, but some people might be weary of the other treatments as well. personally i wouldn't worry about CCA bc as long as junior doesn't chew on the pole then he'll be fine...

get a wood utility pole wood or piping, bury it at least 4'-5' with plenty of sack crete all around it whatever you get, be weary of what the wood was treated with and how the occupants of the treehouse might interact with it...

re: What's the most useful thing you've bought at Harbor Freight? - tiger693
[link=(https://www.harborfreight.com/400-lb-capacity-1-in-x-15-ft-ratcheting-tie-downs-4-pk-63094.html)]Ratchet Straps[/link] usually $12ish but wait til it goes on sale for $5 or $6. So cheap and easy to use and just toss whenever they rust out, although I've found regular lubrication keeps them...

re: Busted flat in Baton Rouge - tiger693
It’s a song. Texarkana is not a mile from Louisiana either. It’s about 90 miles. You just got to roll with it.
For a significant part of my life, I misheard the lyrics as "an hour from Texarkana" which could make sense. They should've run with that...

re: What Would the OB Choose? - tiger693
In your situation, I would agree that you made the right play and got a shotgun to fill your needs. I own a SBE II Classic and would say that you did good by getting a gun on the upper end value-wise from your choices. Since I already have a gun for everything I "need" one for, I would have gone ...

re: Thinking about a pair of Tecovas - tiger693
I'm about to pull the trigger on a pair too. I've got a buddy who has a pair of Nolans, he said they're true to size, maybe a little on the narrow side. He and I wear the same size and he's got the standard width, so I am going to try his on for size before ordering...

re: new truck purchase with new 2019 Silverado release - tiger693
I bought a new 2017 GMC 1500 back in August. I followed the WC method throughout the process and am very happy with the deal I negotiated, so  to WC for the advice. Highly recommend following the WC method. Even in August 2017, the dealer I was dealing with had only 2 2018's on the lot (big...

re: Ski Clothes from Top to Bottom - tiger693
I wear the same base layers skiing and hunting. Dry fit long johns and long sleeve t shirt, wool socks. If it's cold enough, I'll wear a waffle shirt too. For your outer layers, waterproof is key. You could get away with using your hunting jacket/bibs/gloves, but you'd look like a newb wearing c...
