My wife and I would like to purchase a couple of wood duck boxes to give to my in laws for Christmas. They’ve just built a nice pond on their property and we thought this would be nice to add to it.

Anyone know where I could purchase these? What’s a fair price?

They are very easy to build. Just make sure to build them out of cypress.

Built ones sell for around $50 each.

I've built a few over the years and they are very simple to make following the DU plans.

Yeah, I did think of going the home made route. My PaPa use to make them as well as pirogues, but age had caught up to him and he’s not able to do it anymore.

I may attempt it myself. It may mean more to them.

No may about it. The last few years, I've done a woodworking project for a different fsmily member. Did a lamp for my wife's paran, a light box for her nanny, and a few other things.

People almost always love somethinf you've made yourself over something you bought.

Yup, even if it doesnt cost a lot the time you put in to it shows you give a damn.
