Will it be in San Antonio where they are known for building a championship culture around generational talent or will he be elsewhere in a few years to win it all?

Shaq took Orlando to the Finals, lost 0-4 to Houston, future was bright but nothing flourished. Shaq got his first taste of glory in Los Angeles.

Lebron took Cleveland to the Finals, lost 0-4 to San Antonio; had some decent years following but couldn’t get over the hump. His first taste of glory was in Miami.

Shaq, Lebron, Wemby; three generational talents. Shaq and Lebron got theirs elsewhere. Will the same be said for Wemby?

Could have added Durant in there too.. I'd prefer not to compare San Antonio to Orlando or Cleveland and rather look at the careers of Duncan or Robinson.

By 2030 Wimpy will be on the Shanghai Sharks where he’ll go on a Starbury-like run

Think he could win one with the Spurs but not with this coach.

Greg Oden was a generational talent too. Wemby is closer to Greg than Shaq.

Wemby has been exposed, lean of him and by the fourth quarter he will be exhausted.

He's too skinny to battle rue big men

Wouldn't say exposed, but definitely a weak spot that could be improved on. 22 year old on a young team overachieves and makes the NBA finals while playing competitively, but showing their inexperience along the way (game 4).

Very similar to the Cavs in 2007 with LeBron (also 22 then ironically) facing the Spurs.

Edit: Hope he stays in San Antonio. I like seeing parity in the league.

He needs to get put on a proper nutrition plan for sure that will add 20-25 lbs on him over the next couple years. He's young so he will naturally begin to fill out, but I think this is very overblown based on how young he is

I think he can gain 20 lbs without a doubt and still be fluid on the court as he's so tall.

Next couple years will define whether he needs to battle big men or can take advantage of mismatches enough to where he doesn't need to "grind" in there all the time

26 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.6 blocks in the NBA Finals is exposed?

He must get a lot stronger, and stay near the lane.

He will never win a title by trying to be a 7'4 forward. The blueprint is obvious. If SA runs the same offense, and picks with him out past the 3 pt line, they will lose out. Sure, he gets a super free throw line dunk, here and there. But for the most part he struggles with handles and of course, 3 it shooting under pressure

Wemby is talked about far too much. Dylan Harper is 20 years old. He's the face of that franchise. The NBA is a guard's league. The Spurs will go as far as Harper takes them. Wemby is the equivalent of a weaker Marcus Camby with bad shot selection/a fancier, gayer Porzingis. He is only good because he is tall.

“They’re so young. They’ll be back.”

I’m hearing the same things I heard in 2012.

There are no guarantees in professional sports.

1. OKC was a 62-win one seed the next year.

2. Injuries to Russ, KD, and Ibaka railroaded playoff runs.

3. The point is to NEVER assume you’ll just lock in a run of Finals visits because you did it when your core was young.

Wemby will be plagued with injuries soon and become an afterthought in 10-15 years
