Do yall think courses that can’t keep up with consistent good conditions will lose members?

I know of three people I play with that have joined in last two months. One was a member of UC, one a member of CCL and the other plays at Copper or Fennwood.

I think they are close to capped out on members.
Its a shame bluffs isnt open. Imagine a bluffs and false river partnership. 2 awesome courses with completely different set ups part of same package

It's is gonna be a fine golf course, my dad was a member until he died, in 2006, I will play but not as a member if i can, they have a facebook page if you care to check progress greens are being sprigged, sodding fairways rough and around bunkers

Is there some sort of mechanism set up to maintain the current funding ie a trust or something that runs the course? And not just the current plans by the benefactor?

Yes, I heard they have a very large annuity set up to ensure the course stays in business

I heard the same thing. Owner put up a chunk into annuity that essentially keeps the place open and to the standard he is setting.

Also wanted to add i hope they have a club championship this year when it opens.
I know several members and there will be some absolute studs playing regularly there.

I think it's dumb that they're going exclusive only the first season.
At minimum, they should open to the public Monday - Thursday to get interest up.

They dont need to get interest up. They dont want an overplayed golf course and currently over 400 members. There isnt a demand issue right now.

It’s gonna be private so the existing members can enjoy it without having to deal with outside play. It’ll be private for as long as possible.
I think interest will continue to increase once it’s completed. To see what they’ve done with the course from what it was prior to the start of the renno is pretty amazing.

That’s cool, but I really wish what Pelican has done was more popular. “We’re private, but you can you play up to four times a year.”

Poor management and went upside down and got sold off
Current owner is original developer. He wants to make it a resort and build out his original dream. He doesnt have the funding or the time left in age.
My guess is it will be stagnant and overgrown until he loses it. Heard there were others out there that want to revive it.
