I can’t understand why our touch was so bad.

For 4 games, our midfield was aggressive. They won 50-50 balls at a massive clip. We were faster than everyone. Passes were crisp and creative…

Tonight, it almost seemed like every time we challenged for the ball it would squeak out of the scrum into the waiting feet of some 35 year old balding belgian player and they were off to the races.

The whole team was on muscle relaxers

Well Guler took Pulisic’s soul back to Istanbul with him for starters.

It was one of the most obvious tight butthole performances I’ve ever seen in sports. Idk if it was the quarterfinals at home. Idk if it was the Balogun thing.

Belgium is definitely better than anyone we’ve played so far…but the moment was obviously just way too big for whatever reason

This core group has played top talent before and battled hard. Like England and the Netherlands in 2022.

I cant understand why we crumbled when we’ve battled hard in other pressure cookers

Belgium played with a chip on their shoulder and got in our face from the get go. Between the nerves, the Balogun thing, and their superior play we looked like a championship team playing a champions league team in terms of touch and control. Belgium basically didn’t respect our ability and just played solid mistake free soccer.

Everything that could go wrong did from the start. But I said the same thing at my watch party. Our touch was horrendous. I would have loved to see our Paraguay game version vs Belgium. Tonight we wouldn’t have beaten anyone in the WC how we played. So disappointing. At least fight hard. The fight was just not there. I don’t get it

Competition was better and the moment was bigger. Our guys could handle neither tonight.

I don’t think the Balogun thing helped. And I think being essentially favorites against a legit European side got in their heads.

It’s way easier to play as an underdog in those scenarios. Expect to not have a lot of the ball, play on the counter. We set up to dominate that game and I think our guys lost their nerve a bit and didn’t trust themselves

You could almost see Dest run out of ideas live on TV.

We got up early in all our other games which helped us be much more patient in our build up. We played from behind so much of this game we kept forcing the issue and weren’t nearly as patient trying to recycle and probe the defense.

To be fair, not a damn soul was doing anything to help him.
