Usually, my posts are germans. I searched hard and didn't see anything on this. Looks pretty promising and comes out on netflix next week.

Hold the Dark Trailer

Director is the guy that wrote Blue Ruin which is a really good movie.

Jeffery Wright, Alexander Skarsgard star.

Interesting movie. Just watched.

One thing is I hate movies where everyone whispers. Some of the conversations are hard to hear without turning the sound high.

Yep. Just finished it. Really really enjoyed it, and highly recommend it. However I’m going to need some time to process what it is I just watched, and then form a more concrete opinion.

But do watch this! Saulnier ftw.

I also had to rewind a couple times and click on the captions so I could make out what was said.

So can we discuss spoilers in here? Because I would like to discuss this movie.

As others have said, I think I enjoyed this movie. Cinematography, acting, music, pacing, etc were all very good.

But that ending...I don't feel like they needed to tell me everything, but

Maybe I’m getting older and slower in the mind but I don’t know what the hell I just watched. I don’t get it. What was the point? What was the deal with the couple?

That was a bit much to process. Anyway, here are some spoilers and an explanation of the ending and of the movie:

Agreed. My wife and I were both irritated that we wasted a night watching that movie. Just somewhat pointless throughout the entire thing. Two hours that dragged out and I wasn't pleased with it whatsoever.

Well that helped a little bit. I didn't get some/most of the stuff in that article at the time that I was watching it. At least I understand a little more of the story I guess.

I didn't like this film as much as liked Blue Ruin & Green Room.

SPOILER:
As far as the ending goes. This is my opinion:

I’m pretty sure they’re brother/sister and she killed their son because 1. He was born of incest and 2. She resented Vernon for leaving her alone in a town where she was shunned and wanted to get revenge. She killed Bailey just like the wolves committed “savaging”.

Well they did the whole ritual thing, and there was heavy implication of some supernatural elements.

Like a wolf pup was going to jump out of the box.

Would say it was definitely the weakest of his movies but it was still well done and pretty fantastic for a Netflix movie.

Yeah they were definitely brother and sister. Maybe even twins? Definitely brother and sister though.

They were twins. It was heavily implied in the movie, but never outright said it.

Also, the woman at the end that took Vernon's boots back was their mom.

Again, never said it, but that is her title on IMDB.

Movie is dumb. Waste of time. There is literally no point to all of the killing.

Spoiler -

What a waste of time. frick this movie. So I get her part, killing the kid, etc. What was the whole point of Cheeon? >SP. All of the useless/senseless killing of the cops and anyone standing in Verns way.

I liked it. Really good acting.
Plot was obvious. They were wolves. Barely figuratively speaking.
I assume the old blond lady who took the boots was their mom. Old Nordic looking beyotch

Freaking horrible movie

Don’t waste your time if you haven’t watched it already.
