A Colorado man has been found dead, four days after he went missing while on a work trip in Nashville — as concerning footage captured some of his final moments.
Conor Anderson, 31, was found dead in a woodline adjacent to a parking lot on Thursday near Nashville’s James Robertson Parkway, cops said, without revealing a cause of death.
“There are no immediate indications of foul play,” police said. “The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.”
Anderson, who was attending the Re/Max Broker Owner Conference, checked into the city’s music-themed Maxwell House Hotel and was last seen leaving an East Nashville bar at 1 a.m. Sunday.
He flagged down police officers, claiming he had been threatened, allegedly by a group of men, and seemed to suggest $20 had been stolen, according to bodycam footage.
“I met these guys, and I asked him if they would show me their neighborhood, and he said yes,” Anderson said.
“They took 20 bucks from me, and then he walked out, and then he walked out to his group of friends, and then I can’t remember if he demanded or ended up getting another 20 bucks from me.
“And then him and his friends acted like nothing happened. Then they threatened me with violence. They threatened to run me over.”
During the exchange, Anderson looked unsteady on his feet and looked down at the ground, struggling to explain where this altercation happened.
He said it was in an alleyway, rather than a bar, and repeatedly said he wasn’t “familiar” with the area — again struggling to pinpoint an exact location.
Anderson lost his train of thought while recalling the conversation about a neighborhood tour.
“I’m trying to remember precisely what happened,” he said.
“I’m going to be honest with you. What this sounds like to me and this is just my speculation OK and I want you to be honest with me, ‘Were you trying to buy drugs?” a no-nonsense officer asked.
The cop also said Anderson appeared to be “heavily intoxicated.”
“On my life, that is not what happened,” Anderson said.
“Your story isn’t exactly making sense right now,” the officer said.
The cop urged Anderson to be “forthcoming” but he struggled to reveal how the group was threatening toward him.
Anderson declined to file a report, and the cops warned him not to hand money to strangers.
“Go out with friends or co-workers or a group of people. Don’t go out by yourself,” the cop advised.
“Get to your place safely,” the cop said as the conversation ended. “Get an Uber.”
“I am. This is my last stop,” Anderson replied.
The conference ran from Sunday until Tuesday and was held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.

This is bizarre, no one goes into a bar and asks complete random strangers to show them their neighborhood. There is way more to this story.

Sounds like he might’ve actually gotten ran over too.

Is neighborhood code for drug supply?

I think it's fairly obvious that "show them their neighborhood" means "get/ find me some drugs." Right?

He was drunk as frick, tried to buy drugs, and thought it was a good idea to tell the cop that story in attempt to get his money back
ETA:
Really hope the cop/police dept doesn't get sued by some family member claiming he should've been arrested for public intox and if he had been, would still be alive.
The cop was pretty chill. Said you're drunk, go get in an uber. Guy was an adult.

Where he was found makes me think that he may have been walking on the exit/on ramp and got hit by a car and knocked off of the ramp.
He was found beside this parking lot:

That cop sounded like he is from Louisiana.

Most people who party way too hard in Nashville and die end up in the Cumberland River. It's almost like a magnet. I'm surprised he didn't end up in the river.

They can try and gentrify it all they want but East Nashville is not a place I would want to be drunk leaving a bar at 2AM

It's fine if you just hop in an uber. You don't need to walk around much.
With Oracle coming to that side of the river and the new football stadium I think the East Nashville makeover will hit hyper speed.

Well it’s been in limp mode since the early 2000s.

This guy says “hey, you like going out drinking by yourself in towns you don’t know too…?”

At least Stanka has an air tight alibi this time.

I lived in East Nashville for 4 months, but I moved at my first opportunity. Not for me. Nashville in general is kind of a cesspool. Way too many criminals in that city. The city P.R. team must be the best in the business, because I lived in Birmingham previously, and I have spent A LOT of time in New Orleans, and Nashville felt more sketchy and dangerous than those places to me.
That is just my anecdotal experience, but I truly believe that they are just better at covering stuff up than most cities.

We need Paul Harvey for the Rest of the Story. Dude was buying drugs or something, either that or he wanted to get robbed and killed.
