1) On the pick play Auburn got us on their long FG drive early in the game, the ref correctly didn’t call that an OPI since it was behind the LOS. However should have been a personal foul blindside block. You can’t lower the shoulder into chasing defender who doesn’t see it coming anymore, technique supposed to be more of a basketball screen or just “run your route” through that defender. 15 yard penalty there probably kills drive for Auburn.

2) On the long drive to start 3rd quarter where we had a million penalties and punted, I thought the OPI on Trey’Dez was a bad call. Was beyond the LOS, but I felt Trey’Dez literally just stopped and stood there and Auburn guy ran into him. Didn’t hit him, block him, or run a route through the guy. Not sure what he’s supposed to do. We get at least a FG that drive if they don’t make that call

Curious if others on here saw these plays the same.

OPI was correct. They actually missed the same call earlier in the game

That was an awful call and erased a solid completion for a first down

Overall I don't think the refs moved the needle much but that OPI call on Green was a very poor call that would have allowed us to pile on more points earlier in the second half.

They also could’ve not reversed Leavitt’s interception.

Green has to do a better job of just delaying that defender and not making as much contact. He tried to flop and that just put more attention on the OPI.

that is the wqy I saw it, but this board is rife with super intelligent posters who know the rules backwards and forwards.

Overall pretty fair officiating for the game. Hope to see that continue down the stretch.

I thought the pass was thrown before ther was any contact with Green which would have made his involvement simply blocking.

Green has to do a better job
He was literally just running his route. There is nowhere he could've gone. I suppose just before contact he could've turned and looked toward Levitt like he was spotting. But that really is not necessary. He had just as much right to his position as the defender did. It was a dubious call.

That’s what makes the missed opportunities so frustrating. A couple of plays can completely change the momentum of a game, especially in the SEC. The important thing is figuring out why those breakdowns happened and making sure they don’t become a pattern.

I am thrilled with the officiating yesterday. I remember Auburn 2006 and how the officials repeatedly screwed us in that game. I was a little surprised that the Leavitt interception was reversed..

Suprisingly yesterday was one of the better reffed games we have had this year. They did miss the blind side block, the OPI on green was touchy.

They made some good calls though like the reversal on the Sam int which was correct.

They also called a lot more holding than normal, though they missed the holding on the long TD Run
