It will be easier path to expanded playoffs
Eventually - there will be super conference and if we have a couple of easy playoff berths we are in a better spot

Everyone that thinks leaving the SEC is in LSU's best interest is thinking extremely short sided and emotionally. It's time to be the adults in the room since the SEC clearly refuses to be. We are in the right here, but that doesn't matter anymore - it's time to move on.
People may not remember that LSU did the right thing, and that's okay. We know the story here. The SEC wants to be the boss, and if that means we'll have clearly defined rules moving forward that are enforced EQUALLY, then I welcome that.

Kids want to play in the SEC because it prepares you for the NFL.

LSU would certainly be a boon for them. It would hurt us financially and in relevance though. The only it would work is if they convinced a couple more heavy hitters in at the same time. If they could pull Miami and FSU along with LSU and 1 more then you might have something.

As much as the SEC can be annoying, go look at each conference, Big 12 included, with their schools and the geography of where each play. I don't think many people want to be playing most of our road games in the west, midwest, or Atlantic coast for unranked match-ups. Those are not natural fits like the SEC.
Sankey and the SEC's tendency to selectively enforce rules are the issue. Joining another conference is not really in our interest at the moment.

Several Top 25 teams. Better competition than ACC, Miami aside.

The SEC revenue share is around $73M per school compared to $40M for the Big 12. We would lose over $30M a year going to the Big 12. We'd be better off independent from a financial standpoint.
Hell, even the ACC schools get more money in revenue share than the Big 12. And the ACC gives bigger slices of the pie to teams based on performance and TV ratings, so LSU would probably end up with the biggest slice of the pie there most years. And the ACC has quality baseball
