Actually think Arg has a good chance.

Spain needed that PK to break the deadlock, then posses and push. France didn’t even give them much of a fight (with good reason of Spain’s defense). Spain relies on CuCu and Porro to be involved in the attack which may overwhelm Arg. But I do think Arg will neutralize Yamal, and Romero and Martinez will handle Oyar.

On paper Spain should win, but Arg has been the anomaly by sizing up the other teams power, and then says ok we’ll just do a little bit more.

Will France and England sit their starters in their meaningless bowl game Saturday?

The game is in Jersey and kick is at 3...

Always list game times in the local timezone to where it is being played.

I think it boils down to a couple of things.

If it gets to penalties I think Argentina wins. Spain has the best defense on the planet but it is the team defense playing retain possession that does the damage and that advantage is non existent in pens.

If Spain gets a second goal it is basically over. I do think Argentina will score but I just don't see them getting a 2nd goal unless FIFA gets involved with a soft penalty which we all know they have been prone to do.

My pick is 1-1 with ARG winning on pens. FIFA gets their first back to back champ since 1958 & 1962 Brazil with Pele and only 3rd time ever. Messi gets to retire as their posterboy GOAT and then 2030 and beyond they will hand the mantle to Yamal as his successor (see UNICEF photos, etc)

ESP draws first blood ARG equalizes near or in stoppage time. ET produces 0 goals and ARG wins either 3-2 or 4-2 on pens depending on who goes first.

What a weird thing to complain about.

Has been posted on every daily thread since the start.

2-1 Spain, Messi puts one in late, Argentina finish with 10 men. Spain with 64% possession. Similar to the Belgium match, but they are hacked and fouled until Argentina finally has to play a man down.

ETA - Shakira will be fine.

How about... no

It would've been very confusing when there were 4 or 6 matches going on each day at different locations throughout North America

Since this is a sports discussion board based around LSU with most of the members from the Gulf South region... and thus the Central time zone...

I think I'll keep the time listed in the Central time zone... with the appropriate mark saying such

Argentina’s grit vs Spain’s sheer clinicality.

Really looking forward to this one.
