Watching this game I am very impressed with Cinci’s defense.

Very physical. They have flat out shut down UGA’s run offense so far. I never have seen a Cinci game so I was just skeptical of all the hype on Freeman. But the Cinci defense looks good.

My goodness they are in the backfield every play. Daniels has no idea where the extra rusher is coming from. We need Freeman

Freeman checks off all boxes: Youthful, experienced, cultural, successful.

But what about an “attacking 4-3”?

Was thinking the same. Marcus is our top DC target correct?

They play with good technique, but the most impressive thing to me is how Freeman disguises, MK es guys around and shifts fronts and sets. He’s definitely kept UGA guessing early in this game.

I would love to see an LSU defense making offenses guess again. With the talent we have up front, we could see a massive improvement next year with Freeman at the helm. Man I hope he’s the hire.

He uses multiple fronts. So yeah he can go attacking 4-3 when needed but unlike pelini can also change it up when the situation dictates it

They’re also missing their best S And best CB. Both of these guys are probably NFLers so for a team like UC who may only have a few NFL guys, these losses hit even harder.

Would love to see what he could do with our talent

A lot of successful defenses alternate 4-3 and 4-2-5

They just talked about how he was running a lot of 4 man fronts today because of the matchup with a bigger offensive line. Freeman’s defense is multiple. They play all kinds of looks.

Don’t get too excited. They are playing Georgia’s shitty offense.

They’re extremely disciplined. They can all tackle, which is something that can easily be taught (clearly pelini didn’t), and they run banjo coverages a lot on switch releases and for picks, which discipline is needed for. Without the all 22, cant be certain, but I’m sure they’re pretty good at running match coverages due to this discipline too

I see some of those same tackling issues that LSU had this year

They’ve been better since Daniels took over at QB. Not amazing, but definitely better.

There's always that one guy. Ok, so tell us what you think should be the measuring stick for a good defense...

True, but it’s still an SEC offense that Freeman has G5 players to defend against.

Hope I’m wrong, but my guess is he & Fickell are waiting for Day to leave for the league & they’ll slide into the OSU gig.

I mean the LSU defense didn’t stop anyone with a shitty offense this year. I would consider stopping anyone a vast improvement.

I’m just telling you that Georgia has an underachieving offense under Smart. You don’t think that’s true?

I didn’t think it was that much of a hot take. Why would an LSU fan give a shite if Georgia has a stout offense. Weird melt.
