This is a great pic.
Using Lightroom, you can clean up pics quite a bit too. I just used LR on my phone for this image. It's not perfect, but it shows you a little bit of what you can do.
Thanks for sharing!

quote:Thanks. Out of about a 1000 pics the ones took during that few minutes are some of my favorites. It wasn't until later did I see the clouds behind the mountains as the third layer of the shot. I have more from this shoot from a different perspectives that will clean up nice with some filtering as you have already shown. Still processing the entire experience. Thanks again.

The Tetons sure know how to pose for photos.

Be honest, Yellowstone is remarkably terrible when compared to a genuine top five lower 48 Park like Grand Teton...

Anymore feedback or details from your trip. Considering something very similar this time next year. Have never been in that area. Will have three days in Park City. Considering making it a family vacation with another 7-10 out there for parks, maybe a dude ranch, fly out of Montana I guess.
Thanks for the pics.

Awesome pics. Stood on top of the Grand Teton in July of 2017 and it is an experience I will never forget!

How were the crowds? We're considering a trip to Yellowstone in early June of next year.

We just got back from GTNP and Yellowstone. I would highly advise going late may or the very first week of June. We were there Sunday and left Wednesday morning. The first couple of days weren't bad but the traffic Tuesday and when we were leaving Wednesday was insane. I have no idea how it's even remotely enjoyable in peak summer season.
I enjoyed the trip but was underwhelmed with Yellowstone given the hype compared to some of the other parks.

That would be the plan - leave a day or two after school is out here, which is usually around Memorial Day.
I loved Yellowstone, but it was 85 or 86 last time I went. I remember it being pretty crowded even then. Frequent traffic jams at major intersections and sites. I think it was early August when we went.

What are the people that are saying Yellowstone is meh looking at when you go there? The grand canyon, the waterfalls, the geysers, the bison, grand prismatic, the mammoth hot springs, the lake and the mtns. What parts of those are meh? Jesus H Christ.
We went last year for 4th of July week. The only time we ran into traffic was arriving at the Grand Canyon after 10am. The only time we really dealt with crowds was by old faithful. Yeah there are a lot of people at the main attractions in the summer but you could still see and get around just fine. If you’re willing to get going before 8am and hike more than 1/2 mile away from the trailhead it’ll never seem crowded.

Yellowstone was great - it's titanic & incredibly diverse.
Old Faithful wasn't close to being one of the more impressive parts to me though.

quote:Yellowstone is so big and has so many different things to see it what makes it special to me. Only the "major spots" (Old Faithful and Grand Canyon) had really large crowds while I was there. On the other hand we drove almost the entire park and many times we were virtually alone. Of course that the reason I went late May because I could see how the park would get crowed in mid summer.
