London was nice, but honestly it doesn’t feel much different than being in the US. London feels like Boston and New York had a baby to me.

Couldn’t agree more. Enjoyed London. Doubt I’ll go back. Outside of its unique landmarks it’s not much different than a major us city. Loved Paris though which we did on same trip. I will be spending some days in Rome and Florence next summer. What did you not like about Rome ?

Don’t just camp in Barca. You’re on the Mediterranean coast, use it! Valencia, marseille, etc.

The plan for now is to spend 4ish days in Barcelona and then hop an easyjet or vuerling flight over to Nice, France for another 4 ish days to explore some of the French Riviera. Fly back out of nice. Prob also base in nice.

I find it to be overly crowded, even for a large city. All of the sites you want to visit are so packed with tourists that it’s not enjoyable. Same with the restaurants.

Because of the large tourist presence, there are a millions shops selling crappy tchotchkes, gelato that’s improperly stored, and low quality leather goods because people will bite on anything “Italian leather”.

I love Italy, but much prefer smaller towns and cities to Rome and Florence (though for the purposes of this thread I don’t consider Florence a major city)

I really, really enjoy London. Reminds me so much of Chicago with how neighborhood-centric it is - Shoreditch, Hackney, Hammersmifh, South Bank, etc., all have great pubs/bars and restaurants.

Never really thought about Prague but will do my research.

The Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, Poland and Slovenia are my favorite countries I've visited.

I didn't mention Ljubljana, Slovenia. But, Slovenia is my FAVORITE FWI!

If going during the Summer and limiting to the actual city then I would give Paris a slight nod over London.

But if we expand the context to include all four seasons and anything within a few hours train ride for day trips then I would give Munich the edge because there is a lot happening all four seasons and there are a lot of great and diverse places to visit as day trips - Castles, Salzburg, the Alps, Romantic Road, etc... Most of the good stuff in England and France is a little too far out of reach for a day trip from London or Paris and they don't have Octoberfest, Spring festivals and Christmas markets to brighten up the gloomier seasons.

Pretty much all the major cities of the Iberian Peninsula - with Barcelona & Lisbon tops and Sevilla, València, Madrid, Porto also taking honorable mention.

Of course Amsterdam (been living here a decade and running); and also Berlin.

I just got back on Saturday, but I'm convinced Vienna is the most beautiful city in the world. Vienna deserves the reputation Paris has, and I also love Paris fwiw.
