What area of LA to stay in for LSU - UCLA game?

Will you have a rental car at all?


Hermosa, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach area area all have bars/beach. But you are going to be about 30 miles from Rose Bowl, which could be anywhere from hour to 90 minute uber ride or drive. Drive could be a tad better on a Saturday.

I feel like a rental car will be cheaper then Uber’s for the amount of time we are there for.

Long Beach and or the Manhattan Beach area as someone else mentioned. But as also said its about a 30 mile drive to the stadium from the beaches and 30 miles in LA can seem like driving to Pensacola from BR sometimes.

Marina Del Rey is great for those wanting to stay close to LAX

Stay at the Roosevelt
Walk down the street and Take the train under the W

Homeless have invaded Venice beach recently. It's not like it was 2 years ago. Tent sidewalks these days.

Yeah Venice is not good right now. Tent after tent after tent. Santa Monica would be my recommendation which is right next to Venice but much nicer

I would stay on the west side off the 405. Quick access to Santa Monica/Beach area, Westwood(UCLA Campus), Beverly Hills and Hollywood

It really depends what you're interested in.

unlike New York City, there isn't something like the world trade memorial or Central Park that's an absolute must do for everyone.

there's good bar scenes in Pasadena, Santa Monica and many of the other beach communities.

the sunset strip and Hollywood blvd are major tourist traps.

good shopping and people watching on rodeo drive (Beverly Hills). Melrose used to be very popular but has fallen off.

LA has really good ethnic restaurants, specifically Mexican and sushi.

The easiest recommendation that will satisfy most people is to spend a day in Santa Monica.

Depending on how old and/or active you are, here are things we do when we go. My company is based there so I normally go 5/6 times a year and sometimes the wife and kids join.

Hike the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory

Go to Universal Studios. Disneyland is in Anaheim and not too far if traffic isn’t bad. You can also walk around outside Universal on the boardwalk and grab dinner.

Look and see who is playing at the Hollywood Bowl and The Greek. Awesome venues for music

If you’re staying nearby, the original farmers market is legit and great for coffee and walking around

Do a studio tour. I’ve done Sony and Paramount and both are very cool.

Celebrity attraction/home tour. Yes it’s cheesy but also cool tour of the Hollywood area. You go by Melrose, Bel Air, Chateau Mormont, and celebrity homes.
