I think I'm about to pull the trigger on an AirBnB in Los Feliz... The missus won't be going to the game and she has some friends in that area...

Not a bad choice, as it’s somewhat centrally located (although a bit far from the beach communities).

Santa Monica is the closest of what you described to Pasadena

This is the right answer. Did it for our first rose bowl trip and it was awesome. Still a hike to Pasadena, but every beach is.

Venice has really become a nice destination over the past 5 yrs

Way more sketchy and a big homeless problem. And you can easily walk there from Santa Monica if you wanna check it out, and it is worth seeing but after dark it's not great.

When I lived in Marina Del Rey I would bike to Santa Monica all the time. Lots of bike rental places around there.

Any of y'all have suggestions on tying in a wine trip into the game? Napa seems kinda far...not sure what to do.

Yes, great wine region near Santa Barbara, Los Alamos. This is the location of the movie Sideways. There are maps of the locations in the movie to visit, such as the Hitching post restaurant.

That was our original plan. Napa is kinda far, but the drive down the Pacific Coast Highway is one of the most beautiful road trips in the U.S. I have done it twice, once from L.A. to Napa and once from S.D. to Napa.

Instead of doing it again, this time we booked several days in Paso Robles, heart of the Central Coast wine country. We have never been there and it is closer to our destination. Just booked our reservations last night.

Is there anything wrong with staying in Pasadena proper? I was looking at the Westin in Pasadena only 2 miles from the stadium. I will be flying in Friday morning so not a ton of time to check out a bunch of stuff. Really just going for the game and need a place for good dinner and some drinks.

Pasadena is very nice. It's got nice restaurants. It's quiet and pretty. It's got Old Town Pasadena which is walkable and has bars and restaurants. It's just not exactly a scene. If you're looking for a bit more action, it's probably not the place. It's sort of like if The Woodlands was a bit more historic and closer to downtown Houston. It's still a quiet bedroom suburb.

Pasadena is a beautiful area. My brother and sister in law lived in Sierra Madre for a while in the late 2000's and I made several trips out there.

The Santa Anita racetrack is not far at all. That's a fun way to spend a few hours on an afternoon. There's plenty of hiking not far north of there as well with some spots that have really great views looking south. Old town Pasadena is great. Plenty of places to shop and eat.

We weren't planning on it. Probably going to uber or take a party bus to game. We have a group that's going

If you're trying to stay by a beach, it'll be a 400 dollar uber ride to the game......

I feel like a rental car will be cheaper then Uber’s for the amount of time we are there for.

Not at the current rental car rates.
