2We are looking for something a bit nicer than sandals or similar all inclusive resorts. We have been to Jamaica and Punta Cana before. Looking for something we can just chill at the resort with maybe an excursion or too. Main purpose of this trip would be relaxation.

on 1/10/21 at 9:19 pm to GeauxTigers777Ambergris Caye was once a sleepy island and the main town there, San Pedro, was super chill and everything closed at 8:00 PM, including the bars. Now it is full of big hotels, tons of tourists, and has lost everything that was charming about it. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a fun place to go, but I’m a small-town kid and like small islands, unfortunately ambergris caye is no longer that.

on 1/11/21 at 11:55 am to TheNolaClapI'll second Coco Plum Cay in Belize. We just did a split stay between there and Belizean Dreams in Oct. 2020 and it was great. It included 4 excursions. We did the land ones on the beach property and the snorkel ones on the island property. Both were pretty empty when we went, but there's only 24 rooms on the beach property and 16 cabanas on the island property so I can't imagine it ever gets too crowded.

Yep. Their prices have gone way up post COVID.
Take another couple and rent a private home on property cheaper than a suite.
