Ya, I'm eyeing it. I also may be able to put me on Copa but not relying on it. Probably a longshot to no shot. Been awhile since I had to try that move. Not too plussed about it.

With the current weather in Chicago, I’m hoping it gets canceled!

It's actually fine today (and should be tomorrow), especially compared to the last two days. It's what Friday will bring that's a total killer. My current dilemma is deciding if I drink all day at home or the bar. What ever the decision, I won't be leaving one

For your Sunday travel, though, that looks dicey...

I've started combining all of the advisories here.

United has also issued one in conjunction with AA and Delta.

Surprisingly Southwest hasn't even though they will be one of the most impacted.

Supposed to leave Sat 24th 130pm BTR to ATL, then 7p, ATL to Rome, Italy. Flying Delta, returning on the 31st

I can possibly leave a day earlier, but don't think we can figure out the work/vacation stuff to leave later and stay a week, would have to cut it short, which does not seem worth it at that point.

How strict are they on the origin airport ? I see a flight from MSY to JFK to FCO on Friday 1/23.

Any other options I am missing ?

Thanks

I'd look at moving that outbound to Friday, ATL likely won't be functional on Saturday even if BTR is.

While the waiver states that it must be the same origin airport, given the fact MSY has more Delta flights you may find a sympathetic agent that can force the change.

Frontier has waiver posted, but despite it saying no cancel fees, and to use website, it’s still trying to charge a cancel fee. Trying to chat with an agent now.

We’re supposed to meet some friends on Friday in Louisville for a quick run through the Whiskey Row. Scheduled to depart Sunday afternoon. Flying direct to and from using Southwest from Tampa. I’m concerned that we may not get out on Sunday. Forecasts currently calling for less than a foot of snow there which is a walk in the park for many airports; but, don’t have enough experience with Louisville. Debating cancelling the trip as it’s critical to be back before Monday.

Depending on how the line falls, you may not be able to get around Louisville.

I love the bourbon trail but you may need to take a rain check.

Updated OP with what I could. Character limit influencing what I can post but did my best

If you have to be back on Sunday, I wouldn't risk it. Tampa will be fine, but Southwest has a tendency to use flights coming from other airports not a simple out and back like the major 3 airlines do. So your flight from louisville to tampa may be coming from dallas. I probably wouldn't risk this but others here may have other thoughts

Have you checked what options are available when you try to do this online or in the Delta app? I usually find that a ton more options show up online for a change like this than a typical 20 minute delay

Thanks, I only travel a few times a year and normally not very far. I have never had to try and do this. I will look into it. Thanks.

So on Delta, open up the reservation. Click on 'Change flight'. When it pulls up, you can see if you can change the origin to MSY and see if options pull up where it won't charge you.

Otherwise try changing only the date on your outbound flight to friday instead of saturday from BTR and see if that shows a +0 price change for the flights

same...not too familiar with changing flights, but I have to fly out of LC Wednesday (28th) early in the morning and weather still shows it freezing at that time. Should I be looking at other options?

I doubt the waiver is extended through the 28th so plenty of time for the forecast to change. Early morning flights mean the flight comes in the night before. Unless the runway is shut down due to ice, the only thing I could see is you needing to de-ice on your flight. Are there deicing trucks at LCH?

I was supposed to be flying from Vegas to IAH at 1am sunday via united. They just pushed back the departure time to 3am. I am worried that they will keep pushing back the flight and I wont get back home at all because it seems that the actual freezing weather will be later sunday. do you believe this is a united thing or a iah thing?

spirit has a flight leaving at 1am like my original that I am thinking about booking in hopes that spirit will make the flight and I aint waiting and hoping that united actually makes the flight. I dont see why iah would be shut down sunday morning based on what I am seeing on the weather.

Did they change the actual departure time or just delay your flight already? Can you leave vegas earlier on saturday night?

I found the delay

I'd rebook now onto something else

I went ahead and booked the spirit flight so I will see what happens with that

I can’t leave here earlier than 10-11 Saturday night and united doesn’t have any options at that time.
