Flew out of MSY last Saturday morning around 11:00. No issues at ticket counter or TSA. Flew back from DCA today. Again, very few at ticket counter and TSA lines. Walking out of MSY around 2:00 p.m., I saw about 10 people in TSA pre-check line and about 20-30 people in regular TSA line.

ICE agents will be deploying to airports to assist TSA starting tomorrow.

This will get really interesting.

I think this week will be the dagger that forces a deal.

Airports reporting 3-4hrs wait already this morning. Laguardia shut down until 2pm. ICE agents at airports doing non-screening work.

Any update on MSY esp TSA or Clear TSA. I know the non TSA line was through the garage yesterday.

ATC fricked up and cleared the Air Canada jet for landing with an emergency vehicle crossing the runway to attend to smoke in the cabin of a United 737.

Just heard from a buddy who said he has clear and was through that line in 20 minutes this morning (using the TSA touchless ID line). Said TSA line was out of the short term garage door, he couldn't even find the TSA pre check line.

I am trying to figure out if the touchless id line is handling both, Clear and Touchless ID OR if they are just using the touchless id for clear only to get away from the TSA lines.

Couldn’t you have checked in prior to getting to the airport through the app?

Seeing alerts out of HOU airport system... Pre only operating out of C and no CLEAR at Bush today.

WTF, I'd be pissed if traveling and Clear was shutdown.

Took us about 45 minutes to get through Newark TSA yesterday. (Part of it was we were coming back from Europe and forgot to look for the Pre-Check line, but I digress! )

Anyway, I asked one of the agents if this was a busy day. He said, "Nah Bro" (exact words). It'll wind down the concourse on busy days.

Anecdotal FWIW.

I'm flying to Disney in 2 weeks with two little kids.

Should I look into Clear? would that even be worth it?

Depends on the airport whether it pays off or not. $209 per adult, kids would be free to go along.

Would suck to pay $400 to get Clear and it not be running and you not flying/using it again this year.

Ok. Good call.

I looked into with Amex Platinum and it looks like they reimburse you like they did when we got Pre Check.

I'm just not sure if it's worth it.

ETA: we are flying out of MSY BTW

Yeah, just put the 209 on the card and they credit it back yearly.

Holy shitballs, just saw the callout rate for TSA

JFK 33.4%
BWI 29.4%
PIT 23%
PHL 21.5%
MDW 29.1%
LGA 17.3%
IAH 42.4%
HOU 47.4%
ATL 33.6%
MSY 34.1%

Why the fricks is Houston the highest of anywhere?

MSY was horrendous this morning. Tons of confusion about which line is which etc etc

Regardless, minimum 1.5 hour line regular or pre check

Is there any delineation between Regular and Pre for the long line? Do you have to get all the way to the back, and then it separates once you get down to that level?

There lies the confusion

They start at separate places but where that is depends on the day and how the line forms and the workers there struggle with showing where to go
