Yes. It’s shoulder season so everything is open but not crowded.

We are going in April for the Everton and Tottenham match. Thanks for the suggestions. Wife is a huge Harry Potter fan. We will travel North after a couple days In London.

There is a Harry Potter store there that is supposed to be legit. Stuff you can only get there and no where else

If you have time visit some of the street markets like Portobello. There are occasional first edition Potter books floating around. We also found that the covers are usually different than the books we get over here and it makes the book collection interesting.

I know this may not be a popular answer and some will think it's a waste of a day, but if you enjoy sports, you need to go check out a soccer match. Looking at the schedule for October 1st, you've got Arsenal v Tottenham (Arsenal atmosphere kind of sucks though). You also have Crystal Palace v Chelsea which if you were able to go to a game, go to this game. Crystal Palace is an amazing place to watch a game. They have a train that takes you right to the stadium and it's a pretty easy ride down. There's a pizza place called Mamma Dough which is fantastic right outside the Norwood Junction stop.
Have fun, I wish I could go back to London.
Someone else said walking around to the pubs and I would also say this is a great way to see the city. Some buddies and I went a few years' ago for our 40th birthday and we left our AirBNB at 10am and got home about 10 hours later. We did nothing but walk from one pub, grab a pint, walk to another, grab a pint, etc. Probably went to 15-20 pubs that day.

$500 for the worst tickets. If someone knows of cheaper I'm all ears

That's not worth it. For Crystal Palace, i think we paid $80 and had great seats. You do have to sign up for their membership though, which costs $40 or so.

Will second this suggestion. Caught a West Ham v Everton match a few years ago. Even though London stadium is sterile, atmosphere and crowd was a sight to behold.
Paid about $90 for tickets, IIRC. Will eat up a decent chunk of your day, but if looking to kill time that’s perfect.

If you shoot birds, there are quite a few good gun rooms downtown. Holland, Purdey, Beretta, Evans (my favorite) and Cordings has great hunt gear.

A lot of the main stuff has been mentioned.
St. Paul's Cathedral
Westminster
Camden
Graffiti Tour
Jack the Ripper Tour
The Clink Museum
If you're up for a day trip, you can take a bus to Oxford. If you're into to Lord of the Rings, that's where Tolkien lived most of his life. There is a pub where he used to go.
There's also a lot of other palaces besides Buckingham, though some require travel.

Thinking about adding Paris on the end of a London trip since it looks like it’s a $100 2 hour train ride. Anyone every done that trip? And could put Paris at the beginning before London as well.
Thoughts or advice on which to do first or a London/Paris combo trip on general?

We’ve been in late September and the weather was very good. The crowds are smaller.

The White Star makes it easy. Personally, Paris is one the most over rated cities I have been to. After two days I wanted to get into the countryside.
Anyone know the spot for LSU fans to watch the Auburn game?

Let me know if you hear something. I will be there. Gonna do a little research on this.

Will do. I avoid the tailgates and such that are organized for games like this. They tend to be not worth it imo

The last time my wife and I were in London, we did a day trip to Paris using the train.
It's very doable.

Yes. I have combined London and Paris twice and that makes for a great combination because it is so easy to get from one to the other by Eurostar. The chunnel train is a quick and pleasant trip from downtown to downtown.
I love both cities but Paris is my favorite. I go to London first because I like to save the best for last.

Did it on the Eurostar. Lot's fun. We spent 5 days in Paris and 5 in London. Easy trip, they handle your luggage like an airport, and customs is easy.
Day trip is tough but worth if you have a few days.
