Wife and I looking at going to St. Augustine, Fl. at the end of June to see Matchbox 20 with The Wall Flowers opening. Anyone ever been to this area and can give some tips on things to see and do? Planning on doing a long weekend from Thursday to Sunday.

Watch the sunrise over the Atlantic on Vilano Beach

The Cuban sandwiches and pitcher of mojito at Columbia restaurant

Cruising out to the Atlantic Ocean in a private chartered sailboat (not that silly pirate ship group tour)

Walk to the top of the lighthouse

Our favorite bar was the "Bar with No Name" in the St. George Street historic district

Prohibition Kitchen is a good restaurant.

Beaches are nice and aren't too far away. Cool nightlife.

The Castillo de San Marcos and Lightner Museum are cool if you like history.

Do it. We go every year for Billy strings and always will. The amp is going to blow your mind. We always stay on the beach.

you’re going to have a blast. One of our absolute favorite places

Lighthouse, fort in town, Fort Matanzas just down the road. Downtown has a lot of small attractions. Stay downtown by the main drag. Avoid the fountain of youth and Ripleys.

Fancy dining : Collage Restaurant, River and Fort

Not so fancy but Casual and good: Columbia Restaurant and OC White's

All these all located around the St. George street Area

Heading toward the St. Augustine Amp where your concert is there is Black fly and Odd birds for food and drinks

Do the St. Augustine Distillery tour and get free alcohol at the end and then right next door is the Ice Plant bar(definitely have a drink there)

If you rent a car head over to Vilano Beach then head down to Cap's on the Water

Good day trip head south to Washington Oaks state park about a 25 min drive from where you are at but the drive along the coast is beautiful and also see where the intercoastal hits the Ocean it's an amazing view.

St.Augustine is just fun to walk around too also. I live 15 mins away so hit me up if you have any questions

Beachcomber restaurant not to far away from where you are.

Beaches at Vilano Beach is about the only thing around you on the water.

Believe it or not but not to many restaurants on the Ocean around St.Augustine due to flooding and risk of hurricanes.

Asado Life is another restaurant on the water near you also.

Just go online and check them out to narrow it down

Beachcomber restaurant
don’t miss. Food is way way better than it needs to be. Just walk the beach to it from wherever you are or ride a bike.

Skip the tourist seafood places on A1A they are all the same and not very good. The taco place though is incredible

Went there a few years back. Didn’t know about the place and it turned out to be one of my favorite stateside stops.

Love that place! You will have a great time

Another Cool Place is Tybee Island, Ga. Very Cool Place was some really good places to eat. Good Vibe and not overgrown with Big Chain places. Quite charming and laid back.

If you're into history at all and want to explore the oldest city, tours at Flagler College, The Oldest House (which is different than The Oldest Schoolhouse ...ask for Ashley who's an LSU alumn), Lightner Museum, the St. Augustine Lighthouse, and of course Castillo de San Marcos are great. There's also a boat tour that offers a different view of the city that I've heard as well. Plenty of ghost tours too if you're into that kind of thing.

River & Fort is pricey but has great food and views, and Columbia Restaurant for cuban/spanish fare. Harry's is the touristy spot to go but has good food.

Tini Martini bar is fun and San Sebastian Winery is a favorite, even if the wine isn't the best. And then just walking down St. George street and popping in different shops, bars, and restaurants.

St. Augustine is a great time.. feels like a quainter, cleaner French Quarter or old Charleston.
