In Breckenridge for the week and thought about making the 45 minute drive up to Vail for a day. Any particular recommendations on where to ski in Vail? We’re Green and Easy Blue skiers. TIA.

The appeal of vail is the back bowls.
If you're not advanced, you won't be on those.
No real reason to go to Vail over Breckenridge in your case.
I've been to both.

Only been there once but the cascade lift was easy parking and easy walking to the lift. We got there pretty early though

There’s a big thread on this on the travel board

Drive to Abasin! Lots of locals. Fun mountain and it’s affordable

Make sure there is a gap between your goggles and helmet before you even think about getting on the lift.

No, seriously, my niece lives in Denver and was just in Vail last Thursday. No wait for lifts and snow was fine. Go to the chop house for a steak after.

Get the lift pass that gets you Keystone access as well. Night skiing at Keystone with a heated gondola is great. Many beer cans in those gondola floors.

Vail is great...if you are experienced...go to the back bowl chest high powder..everything else is mediocre...

Epic pass should get you access to both but make sure you get the right one.

Breck is a much better mountain for green/easy blue
Beaver Creek would be better than Vail for you

Vail is HUGE, almost too big for my tastes. I’ve been a few times with locals who kind of guided the way, so I was able to enjoy it more than I would finding the good runs myself.
I’m a huge fan of Beaver Creek, which isn’t too much further away. This time of year, it’s more about how much terrain is open. Download the EPIC app and you can see what mountains and/or trails are open. You’ll also be able to see the complexity of each run. Keep in mind that the blue trails in Breck may be greens in other places.

If you are looking for a lot of green terrain the Beaver Creek or Copper Mountain would be the way to go. Both mountains have greens greens at the top of the mountain instead of skiing the base of the mountain at Breck.
