Looking for suggestions for good places to go that there is good snorkeling from the beach. Haven't traveled much so any suggestions are welcomed.
Looking at St. John BVI, as that seems to fit the bill. Thoughts?
Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Grand Cayman is surrounded by a reef that can be reached from many beaches on the island. Great snorkeling.

The second largest berriier reef runs from Mexico south. We have visited it twice in Xcalak in Mexico when staying at Sin Duda. The area between the beach and the reef is 200-300 yards wide and is 4-8’ deep with coral and fish everywhere. We were litteraly seeing schools of fish 30’ from entering the water.

You can see the waves breaking on the reef in the distance, wave action is almost nonexistant between the barrier reef and the shore

Kauai near Anahola Bay. Great reef and pretty well protected from swells.

Kaanapali beach in Maui starting at the Westin ocean villas and up towards Kapalua.

Literally walked two steps into the water, looked down, and all the aquatic life you’d want to “sea”

Kauai Princeville St. Regis has a great pool with elite views and a reef right off the beach. It’s near “the Tunnels” as well. Water quality is fair ,lots of turtles, setting and scenery are perfection.

I 2nd Roatan...the second largest living reef in the world is only 100 yards or so off the beach.

Look into Las RocasDiving Resort. I know it's called a "resort", but it's a really quiet set of bungalows. We didn't stay there but rented beach house next door. Next tie we will be staying at Las Rocas.

I've been to Trunk Bay numerous times in St. John. Great for what you're looking for.

Those were pulled off the Sin Duda's facebook page. I think they are using a waterproof point and shoot.

This is one I took and it was with a waterproof Nikon P&S camera.

Listen to what he’s telling you. Ambergris Caye is part of this same reef and a tad easier to get to. The fishing village he’s talking about is remote but beautiful and untouched.

Wickowick,

Looks like traveling there is a pain. How do you usually do it?
