recommend a Caribbean all inclusive for a honeymoon
Budget is $7000 for 8 nights, does not include plane tickets so this is strictly for room and resort. June 2021

I would like to spend less than $1k for round trip flights for 2 out of MSY(Nola).

I've been eyeing the Royal Bahamian and Montego Bay, both with Sandals.

Just wanted to see if anyone had recommendations on resorts or types of rooms.

Thank you

Cocobay Resort in Antigua. It's a unique hotel set up for honeymoons / couples and is all-inclusive. The food is fantastic. Individual cottages, some with plunge pools, outdoor showers and tubs, and wrap-around decks, on a cliff with two separate beaches. It should be in your budget especially if you book soon taking advantage of these covid discounts, even if you aren't going for a while.

Royal Bahamian is closed until November. Montego Bay is ok, Negril is better, but overall that entire island sucks.

In my opinion, Grenada, St Lucia and the Turks are better options.

Somewhat agree. If you have a $8K budget I would not be looking at Jamaica. Antigua (Jumby Bay Resort and Cocobay Resort) are amazing, especially for honeymooners. Other islands that I would consider are Anguilla, Barbados, and like SippyCup said Turks & Caicos.

I loved my trip there, if you are looking to relax, have relations, water sports all on beautiful beaches with amazing aquamarine water. I stayed at the Royal West Indies, but it's not all inclusive.

Also the locals didn't hassle trying to sell me something once in my week there.

Don’t do Montego Bay. Negril is a lot better beach. Check out Couples Resorts there, Swept Away is a favorite.

Sandals - Grenada.

Full disclosure, didn't stay there, but did stay a week in Grenada. Our favorite island trip by far. Not for everyone, but the beaches, the waterfalls, the rum, the food, the people. Great time.

We had lunch next to Sandals (which was La Source before they bought it). Great looking resort and beaches there.

We went to Iberostar Grand Rose Hall I’m Montego Bay and it was FANTASTIC. Great food and fantastic service. Top shelf liquor. Plus we had a nonstop from Houston through Southwest. Would take that trip again 10/10.

If you’re a golfer, if you stay a week you get 2 free rounds - 1 at cinnamon hill and 1 at white witch. I loved both courses!

We did the same and I concur.

However, other posters have given good advice as well. Anguilla, Antigua, T&C all have some great options and are more “upscale” islands.

Palm Island Grenadines

I’ve been all over the Caribbean. BVIs and Grenadines are 2 of the best in my opinion.

With that budget, you might be able to get a chartered catamaran for the week in the BVIs

Absolutely. June is low season. He can probably get a cat with a captain for that price and add a cook.
